Back and Betta Than Eva!

We're baaack -- from The Renegade Craft Fair that is! And I must say it could not have gone any better. One customer described it best when she said that it was "joyous." Indeed it was. Lots of good vibes, a beautiful sunny 60 degrees in Chicago's artsy/hipster neighborhood of Wicker Park and 75+ fabulous vendors selling their handmade goodies. We sold more than we could have ever imagined and met some of the most fabulous people. You might be seeing us again at a similar event in Austin and perhaps a few boutiques -- more details to come very, very soon! For now, here are a few pictures of the fab day:

Reunited and It Feels So Good

It's a shame I haven't had any random thoughts since…July according to these archives. I suppose I've just been staring into space, watching paint dry and..well, wait. That's not true. I've just been too busy to write. I know, that's a sucky excuse but a very, very true one. If you haven't noticed, BussBuss finally has her much anticipated shop up and running, Zee BussBusstique. In addition, I've been busy actually making the things for sale in said BussBusstique and preparing for the ever-approaching Renegade Craft Fair in Chicago on September 20th. Good plug, right? Excellent. Also, we relocated from Austin to Motown, so we've been settling in to our new digs.

Detroit was on my list of places I'd never ever move to. And that was a very short list folks. Ok, that's a huge lie, but it was almost #1!! Sure, that was before I'd ever been to Detroit, but you hear things. This place has a horrible reputation, but I'm going to let you in on a little secret: It's not true! Sure, there are tons of sketchy parts, but all cities have their ghettos and areas you know to avoid. But out here in the pretty lil suburbs, everything's just peachy green. That's right, I said green. What're you gonna do about it? If it's any consolation I said it for a reason. This place has big green trees, something one is not used to coming from Texas. And um, grass. Texas has grass, but the kind that hurts if you take off your shoes and walk thru it. Crunch. Crunch. My parents came to visit recently and they even liked it, or at least said they did. Parents are good that way.

So other than trees and grass, what does Motown have going for it? Decent shopping (always a plus, or a must, in my book), surprisingly friendly people (must be that whole being close to the Midwest thing), proximity to Chicago and NY and Canada. Here it only takes 20 minutes to drive to another country (Canada you geography whiz) as opposed to the 8 hours it takes you in Texas to get to another state. And if you've driven 8 hours in Texas in either direction, you know you wind up on the border of El Paso and some place in New Mexico, and if you go the other way you land in the stinky bayou of Louisiana. Not that I'm bashing Texas, or meaning to anyway. I lurve many things about that bigass state, but for now I'm just comparing, you see?

Currently the weather's also a plus. In the 70s! Woohoo! Now, I know I will be singing a different pop song in another two months, but for now I'll keep enjoying myself. Detroit's also very up-and-coming. Perhaps to Eminem's credit? Although the movie 8-mile only showed that previously mentioned ghetto I spoke of. But there's a very burgeoning artist/writer/young people community – we even have a slot on craigslist now! Weehaw. I've also started the ed2010 chapter for media whores. Our first event will be in the first weeks of October. And mediabistro is finally having their first event here in a few weeks. Hallelujah – the people have spoken.

Let's see…what else? Weddings. I'd like to send a congratulatory shout out to Bap and Corey who recently got engaged. They'll be tying some knot next April or May. As for our own wedding? Still no plans. We brainstorm. And brainstorm. We've batted around everything from Austin to LA to Mexico to the Bahamas to Tuscany to Central Park. If you have any suggestions, feel free to email them to me. I'll post them on the site and let people vote. Hope that's okay, Mr. Fiance Moser.

I'm sure no one's still reading this…are they? Well if you are, shall I go off on another tangent? Friendster, perhaps? It's fun people. And a fab time waster. The great blackout of 2003? Yup. We got caught in that too. Look for a story to come in a few weeks about the whole experience. The new Jessica Simpson/Nick Lachey show on MTV, Newlyweds, awesome. Seriously, it is so hilarious, you must tune in. Ditto for Queer Eye. And The O.C.'s starting to suck me into it's prepubescent web.

Okay, well I hope you check out Zee BussBusstique and give me feedback, or heck, buy something? Oh, speaking of buying something, Klaus is selling his treasured Silver Bullet. That's right the beautiful, sporty lil 330ci. If anyone's looking, you can check it out here.

And in a lame, worse than mass-email way, apologies to everyone I know who I haven't been the most communicative friend to lately. Things are calming down so I should be around more. I hope. BussBuss!
