Q. I'm kind of in a "ruff" spot, so to speak. I've been invited to a friend's dog's birthday party and have no clue what to bring or expect. Can you suggest some sites where I might find a cute and appropriate gift? And should I be dressing my dog up for this shindig, and if so, in what? Thanks!

A. Seems that trendy doggy wear and pooch parties aren't just for the LA crowd anymore. Can we blame Paris Hilton for this, too? Luckily designers have responded with a slew of options from the adorable to the ridiculous. Check out the New York-based site www.trixieandpeanut.com for rhinestone doggy tees and collars, embellished sweaters, cocktail dresses, tuxes, totes and even tiaras. Prices range from about $7-$500.

I'd suggest a fun and inexpensive accessory like the "Princess" or "Prince" charms for $10 each, or the rhinestone letter collars, $12 for the collar and $3 per letter -- after all, personalization is such a huge trend this year, for two-legged and four-legged fashionistas alike. Or if you're in the mood to splurge, what dog could resist its own velvet chaise for $179?
