Kelly's Klicks: Star Style
brought to you by our haute sponsor: Q. I admit it -- I'm a little Hollywood, celeb and fashion obsessed. Can you lead me to some online shops where I can find what the stars are wearing? A. The fun thing about celebrity fashion is that it's normally much more wearable and accessible than what you see cruising down the runway. Celebs are able to give us a real-life view into how to wear things that first appeared on the runway, where we all thought 'what the heck is that!?' Or, perhaps I should say their stylists are able to give us the real-life view, but whoever gets the credit (or the blame – Rachel Zoe), you can start your celeb-style shopping at As Seen On Screen's website asos.com. Shop by category or celebrity and view pics of celebs in their natural habitats at this UK-based online shop that features celeb-inspired looks at affordable prices.
If you want to don what the celebrities are actually wearing, check out LA-based shopintuition.com. When you see photos of celebs shopping in US Weekly and all of the other paparazzi-driven mags, more than likely, they're at Intuition. Here you can pick up the new and trendy, like Primp thermals (Mischa's a fan), leggings and skinny jeans, not to mention jewelry, bags and stuff for guys, babies and pets too. Also based in LA and a destination for celebrities looking to spend some of their "hard"-earned bucks, shopkitson.com offers everything a trend-loving fashionista needs.
Another LA hotspot for shopping, with a site for those of us who don't live on the West Coast, is lisakline.com. Carrying hipster frocks and accessories by up-and-coming designers and cult faves like Saint Grace, Anna Sui, Ella Moss, Tarina Tarantino, White Trash Designs, Rebecca Taylor and tons more, Lisa Kline pretty much pioneered the famed Robertson Boulevard shopping destination that exists today. Speaking of Robertson, stroll by shoprobertson.com while you're at it. You'll find Mike & Chris, Geren Ford, T Bags, Dolce Vita and Oh Deer!
Another celeb fave, that carries higher-end designers, is satineboutique.com (Kirsten Dunst's a regular). Here you can nab edgier and artsier frocks by Chloe, Alexander McQueen, Y& Kei, Stella McCartney and Sass and Bide. Traceyross.com is a hotbed for celebrity fashion, too. Find Erin Fetherston, Jenni Kayne, Jill Stuart, Derek Lam, C&C California, etc.
Celebs love Ron Herman, who pioneered their beloved Fred Segal boutiques, and ronherman.com carries really cool stuff, including Project Runway season three winner Jeffrey Sebelia's line Cosa Nostra. Also find Franny, 3.1 Phillip Lim, Jovovich Hawk, Mayle, Puella, CC Skye, Viktor and Rolf and too many more hipster designers to list.
Yet another LA outpost with a website for the rest of us is bellegray.com, owned by former Melrose Place and Dancing With the Stars vixen Lisa Rinna. You can shop by designer, category or 'as worn by' to see what the stars are hankering for these days. You can find some of the more predictable garb like Juicy sweats, but there's also a cool selection of more underground items by VATO, I Can 2 and even the shop's own private label.
Want more? Click on over to famousfashionsfound.com, where you can shop by TV show, movie, magazine must-haves, star, designer, etc. Find Selma Blair's belt line Elegantly Waisted here, as well as Goldenbleu bags, Jacqueline Lamont hats and whatever else Jessica is wearing that week. Similarly, scope out seenon.com, which has a near identical setup. Label360.com also lets you browse by celeb, category and designer. If you're craving one of those red carpet dresses but don't have thousands to blow, go to absstyle.com, where you'll find "inspired" designs from ABS by Allen Schwartz. Then stroll by rodeodriveresale.com, where you'll find gently used designer goods for less from Burberry, Prada, Marc Jacobs, Ferragamo, Coach and Louis Vuitton. There's new trendy stuff too worth checking out.
Finally, be sure to stop by celeb fave spot barneys.com (Tom Cruise's babymama Katie Holmes practically lived at Barneys when she was preggers with baby Suri and Winona obviously loves Barneys too, so much so that she treated herself to a five-finger discount that landed her three years of probation -- oops). If you're looking for more experimental designers that often cost less than Barneys (though it's still quite spendy), hop on over to barneyscoop.com.
