August 31, 2003 : J. Crew Suede Trainers: $14.95
That's no typo. These trainers really are marked down from $68 to $14.95. It's all part of J. Crew's final summer clearance sale. I'd expound but listen to me folks -- this stuff goes fast, so to get in on the mega-cheap markdowns you gotta act fast. Nuff said.

August 30, 2003 : yoox.com
Gaining lots of hype on the fashion scene, Italian-based shopping site yoox.com features an international selection of designer digs ranging from nearly-third-world to Monaco prices. I dig these Gang trousers in red for just $31. Browse by designer or category depending on your preference -- or get dressed by Claire Danes and Heidi Klum if you must. If you've got some time on your hands and a shopping craving to satisfy, this would be a worthy stop on the credit card train. Choo. Choo.

August 29, 2003 : J.Lo Ring: $19.95
Shamelessly in lurve with J.Lo's bling-bling? Ding! Ding! Well, if you've been bummed about not having the $1.2 million of your own to shell out for the famed six-carat pink diamond engagement ring, you need not be depressed anymore. Score this replica for just $19.95. The upside: When you're tired of pink because it's like so overdone (you know the day will come...sigh), you won't feel too bad because you will have only shelled out $20 instead of your first million. Something to think about. For your faux bling head to czfantasy.com.

August 28, 2003 : BLIK GRAPHICS: $30+
Could these be any cooler? I think not! What am I talking about? Only the most fabulous (and obvious) soultion to designer laziness/boredom since...well, ever. Maybe I'm exaggerating, but since I can't think of anything clever to say we'll stick with "well, ever." Capiche? Basically these are wall decals (stickers if you will) that will give any space that kick in the pants it needs to be cool and interesting. Cheaper and easier than painting, cheaper than buying art, and best of all, for the commitment-phobes out there, you can change them out as often as your wallet will shell out another $30 or $40. Made from self-adhesive vinyl film, you can literally peel and stick these babies onto any flat surface such as a wall, ceiling, tabletop or floor. Get your Blik Graphics at velocityartanddesign.com. Trading Spaces, I hope you're reading...

August 27, 2003 : White Trash: $10+
Amen Wardy Home's white chocolate-flavored bark stirred into a nutritious mix of crisp cereals, pretzels and nuts comes in a fabulously kitsch White Trash bucket. Is it any surprise this company is based in Vegas? Luckily you won't have to fly to Sin City to indulge though, since they also sell online. In addition to the White Trash goodies, Amen Wardy sells tons of cute gifts including Agent Provocateur candles, Nescafe bean apples and pears and loads more.

August 26, 2003 : Fanny Packs: $31
Remember when fanny packs were those tacky things your mom made you strap on to carry all your junk around? Yeah. I know, the scars are still fresh. Well, it's time to get past that and into the new world of "fashionable" fanny packs. No, it's not an oxymoron, contrary to popular belief. Even A-list celebs have been seen sporting the former fashion faux pas. LeSportsac makes some cute ones, all at reasonable prices. I dig this Big Apple one for $31. You can even get them monogrammed for an extra charge. So go forth and wear your fanny pack with pride. I can almost guarantee that nobody will point and laugh. Almost.

August 23, 2003 : Forever 21 Skirt: $15.80
Brown and white and purple -- oh my! I know, I can't believe this skirt is only $15 either. In fact, I can't believe all the oh-so-low prices on the eternally cute items found at Forever 21. Time to stock up? I think so. The quality may not be top-notch, but this is a great place to snag "trendy" pieces or just have a much-needed shopping spree. You can get a lot for very little. Compare that to what a therapist might charge to make you feel better, and well, you know what I'm saying. I hope. To scoop up this skirt visit forever21.com.

August 20, 2003 : The Buss is back and cleaner than ever!
All apologies for the interrupted DailyBuss service, but apparently the whole no-power-on-the-eastern-seaboard thing just felt the need to include us here in Detroitland. For those of you affected by the whole ordeal, you know that life without electricity is barely worth living. But it's not the whole no-lights, no-television, no-internet part that's the worst – it's the no-water part. That's right. No H2O. Which meant no showers, and worse yet, no…flushing. Ew. I know. Gawd how I know. (And you thought AM-only radio and Scrabble-by-candlelight were the worst of it.) After two waterless days in bloody humid August of all times, there's really only one thing you yearn for. And that my friends is a shower. A shower and some Lava soap. Anything to make you feel clean again. Which is why I've selected this spiffy Heavy Duty MotorWash Shower Gel as today's DailyBuss. (Well, that and because it's just soo Motor City, now isn't it?) Much, much gentler than Lava soap, but with the same super-clean results. MotorWash, what's your price for flight? $18 for a 14oz. jug, apparently. To snag your bucket o' clean, head to sephora.com.

Hitting just below the knee, this demure-yet-flirty skirt is fully lined and washed for softness, but can be made edgier if paired with a tank, fitted blazer and heels. The floral print will have people wanting to stop and smell your roses -- can a price tag really be put on that? Apparently. It's marked down from $39.50 to just $14.95 on ae.com.

August 05, 2003 : Mr. & Mrs. Computer Brush: $20
Have you heard about that study that was done about what the dirtiest spot in the workplace is? They tested the kitchen, the toilet and the computer desk… Yeah, you'd probably guess the dirtiest spot was the toilet? Not so. It was the computer area!! Why? Because no one ever cleans it. I know, ick. But that's understandable. I mean, it's hard to get in between those pesky keys on the keyboard and how should you clean your monitor? Pledge? Windex? What? Well the swell folks at Fred Flare are offering this adorable cleaning duo – Mr. and Mrs. Computer Brush. He cleans the crevices of the keyboard and she dusts the monitor with her poofy hairdo. Cleanin' in style. I like that. Get your duo for $20 at fredflare.com.

Fall's just a hop, skip and a month away and you know what that means...time to wear new clothes. Yay! You'll want to stay warm and in stlye with this season's staple: cords. The denim of the new millennium? Maybe. Comfy, sexy and casual? Fo shizzle. Old Navy's got some great ones that are low-waisted, boot-cut and stretch -- the three musts in my book. The spandex in them allows them to move with you, so these really are comfy. I recently bought a few pairs myself. Available in khaki, salt, dark chocolate and clay rose, each for $29.50, at oldnavy.com.
