January 27, 2005 : Slipper-y Slope

Baby, it's cold outside. Which means it's time for toasty slippers inside. But that doesn't mean you have to look like a frumpy grandmama. Oh no, you can still do the slipper thing in chic Audrey style with a pair of Eileen Slippers from Anthropologie. These darling herringbone slippers, available in brown with pink grosgrain ribbon or black with blue grosgrain ribbon, have cushioned leather insoles and suede soles, making them as comfy as they are cute. Scoop up a pair for just $32. They'd also make a sweet Valentine's Day gift for any lucky lady.

January 26, 2005 : Love Birds

Continuing the quest for sweet and unique Valentine's Day gifts, I came monitor-to-monitor with artist Leora Lutz’s limited edition Valentine's Silhouette series. These three 5"x5" paintings feature kiss me reds, pearly whites and flecks of gold swirling about a nostalgic and lovelorn haze of Los Angeles at sunset. There are only 25 of each painting available so if you lurve them lots and are all aflutter, order quickly. Each acrylic painting is signed and dated by the artist and costs $115, or pick up the series of three for $310 and get free shipping. Go on, make the day of that art-loving lover in yor life. Smooches!

January 24, 2005 : Eskimo Chic

After the big ol' blizzard we had this weekend, I learned a very important lesson: cowboy boots are not adequate as snow boots. Who knew! Not this chick from Texas. Anywho, on my quest to find boots that would keep the footsies from freezing, I found these faux fur lace-ups. To me, they're like a pug puppy – so ugly they're cute. I also think they're very Eskimo chic and love that they're $69.99, a reasonable price tag for keeping toes frostbite-free. Pick up a pair in tan or bubblegum pink at shoes.com. The only question now: to tuck or not to tuck? Weigh in on the BussBuss Style Boards!

January 20, 2005 : Pick a Posy

Hi, it's me again, your guest Daily Busser, Nicole from Margaret Nicole! I spend so much of my time knitting bags and accessories, so I can appreciate the work of a fellow knitter! Check out these posy hairclips by Adesso Creative, they are just SO darling! Posy Hair Clips are handknit using 100% felted wool and are backed on metal hair clips. The clips come in sets of two and are perfect for both young and old. They also would look awfully cute on clutches by Margaret Nicole (wink, wink)... Pick a pair of posies for just $8, or heck, a whole bouquet, at adessocreative.com.

January 19, 2005 : Do You, Surfer Girl?

I am not a surfer girl, I am a Manhattanite through and through, but I have to say I LURVE the California-casual style. And the Pisces in me is drawn to the Zoe Belt by Betty Belts -- it makes me want to pack up and head for the coast! Designer and avid surfer Donna von Hoesslin takes her inspiration from her love of the ocean and the beach lifestyle, combined with the influence of 17 years of living in Europe. Zoe means "life" in Greek and the hand-beaded belt features inlayed mother of pearl fish, each of which is hand carved. Look closely and you will see that no two are alike. It has braided soft leather ties with matching hand-blown glass beads at the ends. Zoe comes in three colors, turquoise, pink and petrol, for just $26. Check it out, along with a bunch of cute others, at bettybelts.com.

January 18, 2005 : Afternoons in Utopia

Hi everyone, this is Nicole from Margaret Nicole! The lovely Kelly Lee has asked me to be a guest DailyBusser while she is away in Houston performing bridesmaid duties (i.e., partying!). I will spend the week showing you other indie designers that I LURVE (other than BussBuss that is). I must say that I am the proud owner of the Hey Cupcake BussARoos -- they are my favorite loungewear! There's my plug for zee BussBuss boutique -- go shopping girls! Also, please do swing by my site too and see what I am working on: margaretnicole.com. Now, on with the show…

I know that my customers love that they can customize their handbags, so I know that they will LURVE Funky Utopia's design-your-own-skirt concept as much as I do. All of these skirts will look adorable paired with your favorite flip flops. Such a clever idea, just go to the site, decide on your favorite style (bohemian wrap, new bohemian, or peyton drawstring), then choose a pattern and ribbon trim from more than 20 fabrics, and you're ready to go. Your skirt is made just for you, custom to your measurements, and costs just $40. Who knew a girl could get couture for less than the price of dinner and a movie? Another thing I love from Funky Utopia is the handpainted cupcake pony pin ($15), like the icing on my Cupcake BussARoos. Check it all out at funkyutopia.com.

January 13, 2005 : Rainbow Bright

Just because the skies are grey doesn't mean your wardrobe -- or outlook -- need be. A surefire way to get rid of the winter blues is to brighten up with color and funk and I can't think of a better way to do so than with this "Candy Land" purse by teen Canadian designer Petra of Petrified Baggage. And you thought the youth of today was lazy. Score this handmade bright delight for just $31 at petrifiedbaggage.com.

January 12, 2005 : Charmed, I'm Sure

Charms are to spring 2005 what pink was to 2004: HUGE! From decking out your handbags with them to draping them from your wrists, charms are back with '80s avengeance. But who wants to spend a lotta mula on something you know you probably will only wear for a few months anyway? Not this chickadee. But I do find some charms to be cute, especially the ones gussying up this necklace. If you can resist a sweet elephant, rose and dove, you're a stronger woman than I. For just a mere $10 spot, you can scoop this neck candy up in a jiffy at crowdedteeth.com.

January 11, 2005 : That's Swell

How do I love Swell? Let me count the ways. 1) I love you because you're incredibly cute and well designed. 2) I love you because you're incredibly cheap. 3) I love that I can scoop you up at Target so easily. 4) I love that I can get $5 off my $50 order with coupon code TC5THANKS2U4 through 1/31/05. 5) Ouch, math hurts my brain! So does my gawd awful poem. My point however is that I love the current Swell bath collection. From the preppy pink and green-striped shower curtain to the white faux leather trash can, cotton jar and tumbler, even down to the martini shower hooks. Give your bathroom that New Year's makeover it's been screaming for now!

January 07, 2005 : Spring Sparkle

I can already smell spring in the air, or is that my new perfume? Hmmm, either way, this spring is all about sparkle, and there's no better way to add a dash of dazzle to your boho-chic, sexy-femme look than with a glittering sequin DiscoPop bag by BussBuss. In yummy flavors like Orange Gum Droplette, Very Berry Magenta, Appletini Green and Silver Moondrop, these bags have fresh written all over them, figuratively of course. Paired with this sequin-trimmed ruffly top you'll be shining brightly like the fashion superstar you are. Score your own delectable arm candy before these limited edition bags are all snatched up, yum!

January 06, 2005 : Pin Up

For those random postcards and photos, or even the mail, these oversized cast-aluminum clothespins will keep it together, with a wink and a smile. They're wall mountable too, so you can even hang that new 2005 calendar from one if you please or that never-can-find phone list -- that is if you're still in the paper world like some of us. Clip one on for $19 at potterybarn.com.

January 05, 2005 : Come See, Camisole

Sure, you could wear it with the sweet matching knickers for a lovely Valentine's Day in, or you could don it under a well-cut blazer year-round. January 04, 2005 : Say 'Thanks' In Style

Even though I still have my tree up and am planning a post-holiday shindig, I've been told the holidays are over. Which means it's time to bust out the old thank-you cards to tell those who got you prezzies how much you love them (even if you don't). Don't have any? Don't fret. You can say 'thanks' in style with a variety of darling cards, like these beauties by iomoi. Check them out, along with a bunch more, in this week's edition of Kelly's Klicks!

January 01, 2005 : Color and Fun in the New Year!

For 2005, let's all agree to add a little color and sweetness to our daily lives. Why drown ourselves in safe and basic black when we can sparkle in brights and funky prints and patterns instead? Kick off the New Year with something fun, like a pair of these Jeffrey Campbell leopard mini-fur flats. Slide into the New Year in style for $78 at zappos.com.
