May 31, 2006 : NoSpace
Ever in a sitch where you're having more people over to your place than you have chairs? If you live in a city, where space comes at a super pricey premium, you probably encounter this all the time. Unless you have no friends that is. If that's the case, no need to feel bad, there's always MySpace (though we personally don't think it's very haute can someone tell us what we're missing, pretty please?). And focus. Right, back to the seating issue. The easiest and most affordable solution is to pick up a few cute floor cushions. And West Elm has some stylish ones on sale (along with graphic storage baskets and other cool homewares). Check it all out here, and maybe next time, those creepy MySpace friends can sit on the floor where they belong. Kidding sort of.
Do you MySpace? Tell us on the Haute Talk Message Boards!

May 30, 2006 : Get Doorganized
Are you a smidge scatterbrained? While we think it can be endearing sometimes, at least we hope so as we suffer from this very same affliction, we also realize it can be a complete pain in the hooha particularly when you're running late to a meeting or a flight and can't find your keys or cell phone. Which is why we're digging this very simple solution: The Doorganizer. Simply hang it on your door and stash your keys, cell phone, glasses or whatever you want. The back has a strap that even holds envelopes and newspapers (do people still read those?!). Or, pick up a previously featured Dani Organizer. You can hang it on your door too, but the cool part is you can carry it like a wristlet or stash it in your purse so you always know where your essentials are. Score The Doorganizer here or the Dani Organizer here, or get them both and be ultra-organized all the time. It's the new scatterbrained. Seriously!

May 25, 2006 : Exit9
We came across Exit9 in ReadyMade magazine, one of our fave mags ever (they essentially show you how to make the coolest hipster crafts), and couldn't believe we'd never heard of them -- especially since they're also in NYC. Holla neighbor! The quirky gift emporium, a mix between Fred Flare and Elsewares but with more edge, carries a fun assortment of gifts and accessories. Some of our fave finds include this oh-so practical mountable bottle opener (we hate having to dig through our drawers when we have friends over), this hilarious tennis/skulls tote, and this sweet piggy bank that makes deposits and withdrawals so much more fun. Check it all out here it's a perf place to find hipster hostess gifts too, which will come in handy this Memorial Day weekend and all summer long.

May 19, 2006 : Color Me Happy
Browsing the GAP's website, we saw the cutest weekend outfit under Look of the Moment, and may we just say how rare it is that we actually covet all pieces from a look. But this easy breezy style is just that so easy that we feel the need to scoop it up. Plus, the skirt is reversible, so that's a deal if we ever saw one. And we're addicted to yellow so the raffia tote in lemon peel is too deelish for our fashion-obsessed paws to resist. Scoop up the look, or just some of its elements, here and you'll be effortlessly chic -- and colorful, too, in a click.

May 18, 2006 : The Lowdown on Leggings
After seeing just about 10 out of 10 girls in NYC rawking them, we thought we should share our opinion on the whole leggings trend. First of all, those of you sweet young things born in the '80s, or dear gawd, even later, might not even be aware that leggings, along with neon and big hair, pretty much defined '80s fashion. Being children of the '80s ourselves, we have a soft spot for leggings, but have very strong opinions on how to wear them without looking like a big faux pas or someone trying to do a Madonna or Cyndi Lauper impression. Really, we have just one rule: Do not wear them with denim skirts. The strong hemline of the skirt combined with the line of the leggings forms a very unflattering shape, cutting your legs off at the wrong point and making legs look shorter than they really are. Yet, with flowy dresses and big billowy tops, leggings look very Parisian-chic, and we completely dig the functionality factor. Being huge fans of dresses in the summer, we were in desperate need of a solution for NYC wind gusts we can only flash passersby so many times, after all. With leggings, all problems are solved. Where to pick some up online? Get them in every color of the rainbow here.

May 17, 2006 : Snoogle This
Thanks to two very special friends who are preggers, BussBuss has recently learned of the wonder that is Snoogle. Sure, this can't-sleep-without-it pillow is meant for those with buns in their ovens, but a very non-prego BussBuss enjoys it all the same. What is it? A big body pillow that supports your back and belly during pregnancy (and for those of us who aren't pregnant, it somehow aligns all of our parts perfectly for slumber so much so that an unnamed husband has threatened to banish it from bed as he's felt replaced by it sorry sucka!). Want to destroy your relationship too, er, we mean, want to sleep soundly too? Pick up a Snoogle here. It also makes a great gift for the lounger in your life and can be used in several different positions (we think it's swell for reading in bed and have heard reports of hubbies stealing them from their wives because they're just so darn comfy).

May 13, 2006 : Hey Ladybug
We've been particularly gushy this week with our obsessions. First it was apples, then it was elephants, and now, dear fashionistas, it's ladybugs. They're just too presh! Especially all over this babydoll top -- and the piping and flutter sleeves are just the icing on the cake. Love it too? Pick it up here!

May 11, 2006 : Posh Pachyderm
We're smitten with sweet little elephants these days. In fact, we want to adopt one, but have a sneaking suspicion our landlord wouldn't dig the sentiment. Pachyderm hater! So as not to be evicted, for the time being, we'll simply sport the cutest necklace in the world, this Jami Rodriquez peanut and elephant necklace. You can score one too right here at Luv Charlie.

May 10, 2006 : An Apple A Day
We have more than a slight addiction to anything apple when it comes to fashion anyway, as we don't actually eat the fruit unless it's slathered in chocolate and then covered in salty nuts or is followed by the word 'tini.' And this soft cotton top from Forever 21 is no exception. Pair it with skinny jeans or even leggings if you dare, don your best ballet flats and an oversized bag and you'll be set to tempt Adam with your succulent fashion sense. Score it here for just $14.80.

May 09, 2006 : File Limbo
Getting our office organized is something we always aspire to, but seldom actually achieve. Instead of filing things as they come in, instead, papers and mail end up in large strewn piles destined for a messy and neglected existence. Which is why we really dig these In, Out and Limbo file folders by Bob's Your Uncle. At least we can take the first step in getting it together. Sure, everything will probably remain in the Limbo folder, but at least it won't be all over our desks. Get your office in shape with these fun file folders at fred flare here.

May 05, 2006 : Cuteness Couture

We've been on a cute craze lately and it doesn't seem to be letting up anytime soon. Perhaps we should move to Japan, where we hear adorableness is
adored. Hmm. Back to the cuteness at hand, or should we say neck, as this painstakingly darling birdie and cloud necklace sends us into a tizzy. The cloud is hand-cut from a shrinky dink for goodness sake and the birdie is a vintage enameled charm, plus it's just $22 at Pixel Girl Shop. While there, check out the super fab photo cuff a great gift for hip moms or even for yourself. Simply crop your pics, slide them in and rawk that bad boy around your wrist. May 04, 2006 : French Trench
We were super jealous yesterday when a friend scored the cutest trench from NYC vintage shop Screaming Mimi's. Seeing as it was one of a kind, we were hankering to get our hands on one just as adorable and were surprised as much as the next girl to find it at Target's Go International. It's by Frenchie designer Tara Jarmon, who's known for her ultra-femme, fresh and sophisticated designs and now we can score them at tres affordable prices. Pick up this trench for $39.99 for a limited time here.

May 02, 2006 : Your Cup Don't Runneth Over
Those of us who are less endowed in the tatas department will go gaga for darling petite lingerie boutique Lula Lu. Carrying lingerie solely for bra sizes 30AA to 38A and dress sizes 0-6, owner Ellen Shing (a 36A herself) tests out each piece and then stocks the shop with the best underthings by trendy well-known brands like Eberjey and up-and-comers such as French Kiss. We love the sweet and sexy bras, panties, camis and jammies and lurve the concept even more it's nice that things are getting more niche and less mass (department stores could learn a lil sumpin' sumpin' from pioneers like Shing). Support your bust while supporting small business at Lula Lu.

May 01, 2006 : Southern Charm
In a former life, BussBuss lived la vida tranquil in a small town in South Carolina. This was before the beauty that is online shopping really existed and the only option for scoring something one of a kind was to hunt through the local Salvation Army it was a tiny, tiny town, my friends. Which is why we had extra special appreciation when we met Nicky Fitzgerald, a South Carolinian jewelry designer creating playful, fun and limited edition jewels. And with Mother's Day less than two weeks away, we can't help but think that her necklaces would make a great gift for Mom, and um, we wouldn't mind a few for ourselves either. They'd so easily turn a plain tee or button down into a much more faboo ensemble. Our faves? The five-strand turquoise and peach coral necklace that is so resort-town Lilly Pulitzer, the playful mixed agate teardrops that remind us of jelly beans, and the chunky turquoise and black jade necklace that looks like robin's eggs. Browse the whole collection and find your own source of southern comfort at It Fitz.
