Seeing Spots

If you love the whole leopard print trend, but don't want to look like everyone else and like a touch of irony in your wardrobe, check out this mod tunic alternative by Free People. The sexy/cool vibe is haute and we like that you can rawk it solo as a dress or over skinny pants or leggings for those of us a smidge more modest (re: not as confident as we used to be about our gams). Check it out at right here at sweet boutique Luv Charlie.

Hoody Hoody

You know how much we heart our hoodies around here. They're not just practical (why is it always SO cold in restaurants and movies?!), but they're also cuddly and adorable. We think this sweetheart zip hoody with its heart and floral print is perfect for fall- and the detailing high on the waist keeps it perfectly on trend this autumn (it's all about the empire waists, hauties). Scoop one up in navy or grey right here at Forever 21.

September 27, 2006 : Flawless Face

Have you heard all the buzz about mineral makeup lately? We've heard so much buzz we could've sworn we were being swarmed by bees. Luckily, we now know the buzz is warranted. After trying the Bare Escentuals Starter Kit, which includes two shades of bareMinerals SPF 15 foundation, bareVitamins Skin Rev-er Upper, Mineral Veil powder, Warmth All Over Face Color, three brushes and a how-to DVD, we couldn't be more smitten and we're literally glowing over here – both inside and out.

If you hate the look and feel of traditional makeup like we do, but you want to cover imperfections, Bare Escentuals is a must. It looks like a powder, feels like a cream and buffs on like silk, giving skin a natural luminosity. And get this – it's even good for your skin. So good and pure that you can sleep in it. See what all the buzz is about right here at Sephora.

Celebrities Censored

Are you a teen queen superstar, royalty or perhaps just a royal pain? Tired of the stalkerazzi recording your every move? We feel your pain (in our fantasyland that is). Pop on a pair of these fangasmic censor bar glasses and nab your BFF La Lohan a pair too. The inside edges are reflective so you can even see who's talking behind your back (yeah, that means you, Paris!).

Bring silly back with a pair from the funtabulous Fred Flare right here.

Hang In There

Sometimes, life is plain ol' overwhelming. For those days that you need a little pick-me-up, may we present the 'Hang In There' tee? Besides being sweet and adorable, like the designer herself, we dig the tee's simplicity.

We also think the 'We Broke Up' tee is awesome, but it's the story behind the tee that we heart even more. Read it for yourself on the Edge of Urge site (let's just say it has something to do with an ex-boyfriend and a small town). Pick up your pick-me-up tee at the uniquely fabulous shop Edge of Urge right here.

World According to Jess

We've been fans of the uniquely colorful and crazy bag line World According to Jess for a long time now. It's always so refreshing to see bags that are outside of the box and not just vague knockoffs of trendy so called "It" bags – and we just plain dig the youthful vibe (and bet WATJ does a lot of biz in Japan). So we were super excited to see the sale going on at WATJ right now. Some bags we've coveted for years now are now at prices so friendly we can gobble up a handful – ah, Mom was right: patience is a virtue!

Faves include the Preppy Fun Traveler (was $210, now $65), the Bubbys Crossword (was $200, now $90) and the Zip It Traveler (was $265, now $125). Can you tell we're ready for our trip abroad? Scope out your faves right here at World According to Jess – and remember, it's never too early to start thinking about holiday gifts!

Badda Ming

BussBuss has been on the hunt for a cute oil and vinegar set for about three years now. Seriously. We heart our caprese, okay! Finally, our day has come. The Ming Oil &Vinegar Set from Dutch design firm Jansen + Co. has taken the classic form of a wine glass and literally turned it on its head. And apparently the design is not just good looking but smart too – the stem reduces flow to just the right amount so it's easy to measure as your pour. Score.

The set comes in a cool box (re: makes a great hostess or housewarming gift) with a funnel for easy filling and even includes a cleaning brush too. Our imaginary maid will love that. Scoop it up at the fabulous independent art and design shop Elsewares right here.

Patent Pumps

By now, we're certain you've noticed all the rage over the patent pumps trend. It started with Christian Louboutin, then trickled down to those of us not quite up for spending $500+ on shoes that will undoubtedly hurt with knockoffs by Jessica Simpson and Steve Madden -- in the $80 range -- to name a few. But why spend $80 when you can throw down less than $30?

Mossimo pumps and slingbacks look nearly identical, minus that famous red sole of course, and won't break the bank. Score a pair or two right here at the always-reliable Target. Then take your extra $500 and buy yourself a brand new shiny plane ticket to Europe – where BussBuss will be later this week (check the blog for stylish adventures abroad!) – perhaps sightseeing in these very same shoes. Auf Wiedersehen!

Mad for Plaid

Two haute trends for fall? Plaid and jumpers. And we're mad for this darling jumper dress in wool plaid because it incorporates both trends without making us look like we're six years old again.

Rawk it with some chic flats or kick it up a notch and be a bit more daring with ankle boots. Whichever way you decide to own it, you can score the Avery Dress right here at Delias.

Magic Beans

If you want to express thanks, good luck, love or happy birthday in the coolest way possible, have we got the thing for you. Message beans have your choice of sentiment lasered into one side and a complementary image lasered into the other (hearts, clovers, etc.).

All you have to do to see the "message" is grow the bean – and that's something even the black thumbs around here can do. Simply pull off the foil top and bottom (to let the water drain), add about a half-cup of water to the soil and in about a week the bean will poke through the soil revealing your special message – like magic.

Surprise someone you love – even if that someone is you (we heart you too) – right here at The Spoon Sisters.

How to Be a Budget Fashionista

We've been big fans of The Budget Fashionista blog for some time – gathering tips on how to score the best deals and sales at brick and mortar shops and finding out how to safely wash our all too few cashmere sweaters. So we were extra excited to read the new and debut book by The Budget Fashionista herself, Kathryn Finney. Filled with super practical advice and written in an insider's meets I'm-on-your-side tone, we couldn't put the book down.

How to Be a Budget Fashionista: The Ultimate Guide to Looking Fabulous for Less teaches you innovative ways to increase your shopping funds (no, seriously!) and dishes tips on how to develop your personal style without breaking the bank. You'll also learn how a high designer coat can end up costing you less than a $5 shirt and how to spot a fake Louis Vuitton bag. Get the entire lowdown in the book right here and be sure to add The Budget Fashionista blog to your favorites list too.

p.s. Check out all of the first-look Fashion Week videos and interviews, including an interview with The Devil herself Ms. Anna Wintour, in the BussBuss Blog – photos and commentary to follow shortly!

Fairy Dust

Ah, New York City. An island of energy, lights, 3AM Chinese takeout, shoe shopping for miles and tiny apartments. Tiny apartments that fill with dust so fast that we feel like we're constantly cleaning for an evil stepmother and two ugly stepsisters. While we love a clean apartment as much as the next gal, we loathe the act of cleaning (even of minimal square footage).

But these Cinderella-esque dustpans just might put us in the mood for some serious sweeping like the fairytale princess herself. To clean in style, bippity bop on over to Pylones USA right here.

Body Linens

We get a lot of swag and samples to test out here at BussBuss, but we haven't been this excited about a product in ages. Body Linens by Thread Count is such a simple idea, but such a fantastic one and started with the question, "Why buy 500 thread count sheets when you don't have 500 thread count pajamas?"

Founder and designer Jeena Hunget spent lots of quality time perfecting the answer and the result is THE most comfy and adorable pajamas we've ever had the pleasure of rolling around in. And let's just say we're a little hard to please when it comes to thread count. At once soft and crisp, The Nightie is our fave piece and can easily be worn as a dress for day. Featuring adjustable straps, sweet pink ruffles and no tags, chances are you'll want to wear it all day too, so you're in luck.

Check out the entire line of luxe jammies in 300, 500 and 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sateen, which makes the perfect gift for girls and guys, right here at Body Linens.

Lady Leisure + The BussBuss Blog

Fall fashions may have hit the stores, but in these dog days of summer, we're still screaming for ice cream. Lady Leisure's "I Heart Ice Cream" popsicle and fudgesicle necklaces are not only super cute, but they remind us of the bygone days of ice cream trucks and back-to-school shopping sprees. And we're all about anything young at heart. We also happen to dig the way these necklaces tie around the neck. Check out Parsons grad Helen Chi's designs right here at Lady Leisure.

p.s. For those of us who have been with BussBuss from the beginning, you might remember Kelly's blog (um, she IS BussBuss). Well we're bringing it back! Why? Because we find so many great things during the day that we want to share, from celebrity gossip and news to samples sales and events, coupon codes and fab stuff that there's just not room for in our DailyBuss sked – not to mention the fact that we want to share our obsession with Project Runway!

So check in all day long for up-to-the-minute scoop – soon we'll open up comments too so you can post (but in the meantime, totally use our Haute Talk message boards!). Plus, Fashion Week starts TOMORROW and we wanted a place to share the experience. If you want a virgin attendee's POV and you'd like to see what we're wearing and how to mix the indie with the spendy and the cheapie in real life, then stop on by the BussBuss Blog!

Bag Love

With school back in session, we can't help but think of preppiness in all its sporty-chic glory. Plus, after being inundated with the boho/grunge/I'm-too-cool-to-wash-my-hair look for so long now, we're feeling like going against the grain just a bit. Who knew country-club preppiness would someday be against the grain? Ah, fashion.

And these super sweet and bright tote bags will let us have our fix – and at a fab steal too. Originally $70, they're on sale for just $35. Plus, BussBuss shoppers score 20% off everything with code BussBuss at Shop Rapunzels, so pick one up in yellow, pink and blue and you'll be able to scratch a few names off of your Christmas list early. Click here to Shop Rapunzels now!

p.s. We also totally heart the Rebecca Minkoff 'Morning After' bag and this is the only spot we know of where we can score one for 20% off. Can somebody scratch it off of our wishlist for us? Thanks!

Urban Jetsetter

Tired of the ubiquitous black suitcase? So are we. The best bargain option we've seen in, well, forever, is this red patent suitcase at Urbn, which is, of course, also available in black. Why not stand out from the crowd with a jetset-appropriate rolling suitcase that gives a nod to two of the season's hautest trends (patent leather and red)? Scope out all of the details and get free shipping on orders of $150 and more by clicking right here.
