March 30, 2007 : Mod Squad
|
Meet our two new best friends: Sophia and Alfie. Introduced to us by the masterminds behind hipster handbag line hayden-harnett.
We've been quite fond of hayden-harnett handbags for some time now and were super excited to see they recently launched a clothing line as well. Like their bags, everything's very hipster yet accessible, on trend without being too trendy, and we can't wait to stock up on their latest offerings.
Our faves? The mod and very darling babydoll and a-line dresses (see Sophia and Alfie) in vibrant hues like yellow, red, blue and green. Splurge a little this spring right here at hayden-harnett.

March 29, 2007 : Plant a Pet
|
Pet rocks are so five minutes ago and stress balls so unbelievably uncool. These days it's all about individuality and growth, which is why these Plant-Me Pets are utterly irresistible.
Made of natural latex rubber, the "eyes" are actually seeds (cantaloupe, tomato and pumpkin to be exact), and the "skin" soft and pliable (squeeze their lil bodies and they'll squeak).
Once your Pet does you wrong though -- or you simply tire of him -- pull a Soprano and bury him (head first to cover the seeds), water, then place in the sun. Soon the rubber will decompose and a plant will sprout.
New beginnings? So spot on for spring and a fabulous Easter gift if you ask us. Adopt your Plant-Me Pet right here at eco-friendly and fab Branch.

March 28, 2007 : Twiggy
|
If your lobe-adornment choices have only dangled between studs and chandis as of late, it's time to branch out. Quite literally. Catherine Weitzman's branch earrings are a refreshing choice and sure to garner looks (of envy) every time you rock them.
Cast from two small twigs, they're available in silver or gold vermeil, as well as in necklace form, right here at the fabulous Brooklyn-based shop Sodafine.

March 27, 2007 : Kiss Me Kate
|
Lately we've been having a total style crush on Kate Spade. In a handbag design world that offers up one oversized leather monstrosity after another, we find Kate's creations to be refreshingly unique, colorful and just plain smart. And while we think her bags are tres chic, it's actually everything else that we're lusting after, like this graphic cape code apron top.
We're also adding to our wishlist her glam hair accessories, paper products and, of course, the shoes. And one peruse of the sale section had us ga-ga-ing over the abbeville gogo tunic -- yum!
Are you in love too? Check out all the fabulously fresh offerings and find out right here at Kate Spade.
p.s. Be sure to check out Behind the Curtain, featuring news and ideas from the Kate Spade Design Studio (total eye candy and very inspirational).

March 26, 2007 : Personal Style
|
We have an addiction to all things graphic (um, design wise that is), so we were excited to see that our fave stationery site, iomoi, is having a one-day-only 20% off sale.
We're in deep, lustful love with the lovely custom coasters -- they can be monogrammed and make a lovely Easter or hostess gift (hint, hint). The vibe is very Kate Spade meets Kelly Wearstler (two of our favorite designing women).
Check them out, along with the fabulous paperweights, invitations and stationery, right here at iomoi.
p.s. Use code 'springthing2007' at checkout to receive 20% off on orders over $100 today only (3/26/07).

March 22, 2007 : Gladiator Glam
|
High heels only work in our new town of San Francisco when we're walking uphill (hello insta-flats!), which means that when we're girl-about-towning (and our personal driver is unavailable), true flats are key.
But now that it's spring, we wanna wiggle our toes some and have an alternative to our trusty ballet flats, which is why these Cocobelle city sandals are looking ultra appealing. The glam antique brass studs give them edge, plus they'll pair well with all the babydoll frocks and mod shifts we'll be rocking this season.
Slide into gladiator-glam style right here at Shopbop.
p.s. Shipping is free!

March 21, 2007 : Ring in Spring
|
Celebrate the first full day of spring with a gorgeous rose ring that's undoubtedly in full bloom. A dusting of glittering gold pollen sparkles from petals carved from mother-of-pearl, making this femme finger-fancy a must-have in our spring stylebook.
It looks best paired with manicured nails -- with a delicious dripping ice cream cone in hand (oh, how we miss you being a block away Ciao Bella!).
Pick your flower right here at Anthropologie. Happy spring!

March 20, 2007 : More Lepore
|
We're a bit shoe obsessed these days and though our champagne and lollypops lifestyle (re: sophisticated but playful, glamorous yet girly, luxe-loving yet aware that we weren't born with a trust fund) often prevents us from overindulging in designer goodies, this time we don't have to choose between shoes and, um, rent.
Nanette Lepore's new line for Keds gives us the playfulness and style of Nanette's higher-end designer line but with more of a Keds (plus a little extra) price tag.
We heart the script-print and leopard sandals the most, but the Mischa Barton-starring ads make us contemplate the skimmers as well for our upcoming poolside rendezvous (re: much-needed vacay). Pick your poison right here at Keds.
P.S. Nab free standard shipping with orders of $75+ with code FREESHIP07 at checkout.

March 19, 2007 : Easter Shoes
|
We'll take any excuse to treat ourselves to a new pair of shoes, so when we recalled that Easter's just around the corner, we exhaled 'thank you, Jesus.'
Perfect to pair with a springy frock (um, time for a new Easter dress, too, we suppose), these bright tropical floral-print slingback espadrilles are pure happiness. Pick up a pair right here at Anthropologie.
Be warned: There are a kazillion shoe lovelies to choose from right now at Anthro, so proceed with caution -- or reckless abandon -- we won't judge.

March 16, 2007 : Egg-tra Cute
|
While you're most likely making your St. Patty's Day plans right now, let's not forget Easter is right around the corner. We're normally all about the chocolate and delight over Peeps, but when we came across these hatching chicks, we knew we had a new fave.
These sweet confections depict a pair of hatching chicks cradled in eggshells. Tuck them into Easter baskets as a special treat or arrange them in egg cups or an egg carton for a darling table decoration. They arrive in a clear cellophane bag tied with a satin ribbon, making them an instantly wonderful gift. Let your unique style hatch right here at Williams-Sonoma.

March 15, 2007 : Skirt Spot
|
Skirt addicts, listen up, the faboo Boutique Oohlala has just changed its name to Skirt Spot (that's much easier to type!) and has added oodles more lovely skirts to its line-up.
On a recent browse, we found ourselves oohlala-ing over the Marlena skirt, a chocolate and pink concoction with cream-colored crowns (que royal!) and the Lina skirt, where pairs of cherries make merry on a cream-colored canvas.
Spot some of your faves, from the graphic to the girly, here at Skirt Spot.

March 14, 2007 : Pot Heads
|
It's spring break this week, so pot heads seem apropos.
Make like Brangelina (and the rest of Ho'wood) and adopt one of Mr. Potato Head's illegitimate offspring -- or all three, and grow your own basil, oregano or mint while you're at it, with these darling herb-growing tater pots. Makes an adorable and out-of-the-box hostess or Easter gift.
Adopt your tater tot pot right here at Fred Flare. Mashing, frying and baking not recommended.

March 13, 2007 : Ooh La Luxe vs. Ooh La Less
|
While we thought it was quite preposterous that Oprah once said how affordable Tory Burch's $300+ tunics were (um, they are a steal for a billionairess we suppose), we have been contemplating a pair of Tory Burch 'Reva' ballerina flats ever since we first laid lustful eyes on them many months ago.
Now that we've seen a near identical version, the Libby Flat by Wanted, at Delia's though (for $160 less), we're reconsidering. Pick your favorite version at either Tory Burch or right here at Delia's.
P.S. Enjoy FREE SHIPPING on orders over $75 at Delias with code DTCAFF through 4/1/07.

March 01, 2007 : Spring Trend Spotlight: Primary Pops
|
For spring, neutral colors ruled the runways, but a refreshing dash of blue was used to spruce up a great number of the spring collections. It looked great monochromatically on dresses and tunics and is one of those rare colors that flatter most complexions. The most of-the-moment hues are cobalt, electric and royal blue, but a paler, sea blue and turquoise also added a dash of novelty to the menagerie of beiges, creams, nudes, blacks and whites.
Yellow also popped on the runways and golden girls like Reese Witherspoon have already picked up on the new hue (remember that Nina Ricci number at the Golden Globes?). If yellow doesn't flatter your skin tone, flaunt this trend in accessory form instead with a yellow bag (so fresh), belt or fabulous pair of shoes. Other hues {click here to read more...}
