Dress Up at Shop Rapunzels

It's no secret that we BussBuss girls are addicted to dresses. From vintage and cheap-chic to blow-the-rent custom and couture, dresses are our style vice. And now that the weather's warming up, we're ready to stock up.

So, we headed to Shop Rapunzels where we nearly pulled a Scarlett O'Hara (swoon). With so many lovely frocks to choose from, we're considering hiring a personal assistant to simply help us make a decision.

Find faves like Fighting Eel, Ella Moss, C&C California, Juicy Couture, Susana Monaco, Lauren Moffatt, Puella, Free People, Minnie Rose, Splendid, Rachel Pally, Karanina, Velvet, Deesh, T-Bags, Saint Grace and Da-Nang, to namedrop a few.

And we'll need a second assistant to help us decide between the shoes (Sam Edelman, Jeffrey Campbell, Dolce Vita, Farylrobin, Havaianas, Mystique, the list goes on).

Find a fab summer frock (or five) right here at Shop Rapunzels.

P.S. BussBuss readers receive an exclusive 15% off with code BUSSBUSS at checkout! Also, be sure scope out the sale section -- up to 75% off!

Suit Up and Sale Away

'Tis the season for itsy bitsy teenie weenie yellow polka dot bikinis, so we're relived that one-pieces are now the new two-pieces, at least according to every major fashion magazine that exists. Chic, retro and sporty-sweet, we really love the Marilyn-style Damsel suit from Urban Outfitters.

Of course, if you're a bikini devotee and they're more flattering to your frame, more power to you. If we could, we certainly would prance around the beach this summer in the ruffle-trimmed Billabong Polka Dot Sailor Bikini, which happens to be on sale. Or, perhaps we'd get all Project Runway and make our own with Blueprint.

Either way, be sure to scope out all of the chic pieces right here at Urban Outfitters.

P.S. Urban Outfitters is having a huge sale and you can now take an additional 10% off all sale items with code AWESOMER through June 3, 2007, midnight EST.

How Many Days Ago

Honestly, at the pace we all move these days, is it any wonder we can't remember the last time we watered the plants (circa 1999, perhaps?), opened that bottle of wine, changed the sheets, wore those jeans or popped those pills? The list goes on.

Thankfully, someone had the foresight to create the smartest clock/timer ever, the DaysAgo digital day counter. The clever tiny timer attaches to food containers and other things that need smart tracking -- think anything from those baby bottles or that pizza box in the fridge to your kitty's litter box to your eye shadow and tennies (to remind you of the last time you actually exercised).

To see all the clever uses, along with some handy and eye-opening freshness dates, and to buy your sanity, visit How Many Days Ago pronto.

P.S. This makes a super Father's Day gift! Think filter changes, oil changes, gardening, vitamins and meds, contact lens solution...

Frankey's, My Dear

Online shopping is starting to get even more interesting these days, as sites are going beyond gorgeous lookbooks and product photography and into video. One of our favorite Haute Shops, Frankey's, features video clips of customer testimonials (great for seeing how the latest Joe's Jeans look on real women) and showroom visits of hip lines like Graham & Spencer, Da-Nang and more.

We're also thrilled because we've been loving Kenneth Jay Lane's latest line of animal bracelets, big opal and flower rings and bold charm and pendant necklaces, and since Frankey's hearts BussBuss as much as we love them, they're giving BussBuss shoppers an exclusive 20% off everything with code buss20 at checkout.

Be sure to browse it all right here at Frankey's.

Have a Patricia Field Day

Any girl worth her fashionista salt realizes how much Patricia Field changed the face of fashion. After all, SJP wasn't a style icon before Pat Field made her (and Carrie) one on Sex and the City (think of all the designers who owe her for making them legendary too -- a certain Manolo Blahnik comes to mind).

Luckily for the rest of us, we can get in on Field's fabulously eclectic style in just a few clicks by shopping her online boutique. Find all of the off-kilter elements that made Carrie's outfits work, like Noir heart lip earrings and popsicle necklaces, Heatherette hoodies, Betseyville bags, Judi Rosen jumpers and uber-cool vintage Burberry and Lanvin sunglasses. And yes, you can even find custom nameplate necklaces, too.

Pat Field realizes it's about the mix and there's no better spot to find pieces to mix it up than right here at Patricia Field.

P.S. Patricia Field loves BussBuss too and is offering all readers an exclusive 15% off with code bussbuss at checkout!

Alena Hennessy

Towing the line between subtle and bold may seem impossible, but it's something Alena Hennessy does very well. Known for her dreamlike flora and fauna paintings and bird sculptures, we're completely smitten with her latest line of totes, tees, pillows and extra-long wrap scarves (convenient since summer scarves are haute this season -- not to mention we're always cold and they make great travel companions).

We especially adore the graphic Giorno Horse tote -- it seems like something Kelly Wearstler would wear on one of her shopping expeditions and makes the perfect day bag whether you're hunting for cool antiques or fresh produce (okay, Cookie Crisp) at the local market.

The pillow version is tempting too, as is the Sera Birds pillow and the Feather Necklace top.

Luckily, since BussBuss readers get an exclusive 20% off with code BUSS20 at checkout through June 23, 2007, we can nab everything on our wishlists right here at Alena Hennessy.

Charming Sam Blossoms

We were really falling hard for Louis Vuitton's cotton ribbon necklace when we spotted it in Elle Accessories magazine -- that is until we nearly choked on the $850 price tag (hello, there are no diamonds). Then we remembered a similar necklace that caused heart palps from our Spring Bling Jewelry Guide. In fact, we liked it even more (especially the price and that it was made by an up-and-coming designer).

California-based jewelry designer Amy Steinberg of Charming Sam creates sweetly gorgeous vintage fabric beaded necklaces that add that special pop to your babydoll dresses or simple tanks. They're like grown-up candy necklaces, which we'll never be able to resist.

The Charming Sam jewelry boutique also features pretty turquoise earrings (turquoise is making a big comeback thanks in part to Cameron Diaz), lovely bracelets and even jewels for little girls -- because a girl should begin her appreciation for beautiful things from an early age, after all.

Find your fave sweet pieces right here at Charming Sam.

P.S. BussBuss readers receive an exclusive 15% off with code BUSS (does not apply to "One of a Kind" items).

Shoe La Lust

On a recent jaunt to Mannyhatty, we frantically popped into Steve Madden in SoHo, desperately seeking shoes to perfect a new dress we just scored at Calvin Tran on Mulberry Street. Despite there being more people inside the store than on the streets of bustling Broadway, we managed to find the perfect pair of pumps without going postal (barely), though we did nickname the shop Steve Maddening.

But why face-off with the fashionista crowds when you can click, shop and ship instead? We let our fingers do the shopping once back at home, only to discover many more shoe lovelies we'd rather not live without. The best part? Shoes channeling Chloe, Christian Loubitan and Tory Burch, but made for a working girl's wallet. Plus, you can even create a custom pair of shoes online. Simply choose your style, heel, colors and size and you'll never fear rocking the same pair as anyone else ever again.

Find (or make) your perfect pair right here at Steve Madden, where you'll always conveniently be first in line.

Couture Cubes

Memorial Day is right around the corner, and if you're planning a fab bash, you should know that regular ice cubes are so last year.

Since love is in the details, why not add some rock 'n' roll spirit to your spirits with these clever guitar ice mixers? Or, glam it up with bling bling ice cubes in the shape of diamonds and cool jewels. They are a girl's best friend, after all. We're sure Holly Golightly, the ultimate hostess with the mostest, would agree.

Pick up both and soiree like you mean it right here at Calliope Boutique.

Happy To Be Bleu

In-the-know and hard-to-satisfy stylistas know to head to Le Train Bleu to fulfill their fashion fantasies. We're loving the new crop of spring/summer goodies and designers, especially the creations by up-and-comers Vena Cava. The Zumi Dress and Caraway Cardigan, both featuring black Havasu print on cream backgrounds, show edgy sophistication and are just the right choice for that Gatsby lawn party this summer (even if said party solely exists in your daydreams).

Too rich for your blue blood or haven't quite inherited your trust fund yet? Pick up a pair of Rosemary's Flats in white -- the perfect summer flat for a very accessible price.

Be bleu right here at Le Train Bleu.

Roman Holiday

While everyone in fashion blogland is going cuckoo for Kate Moss at Barney's, we're not really seeing what the big deal-i-o is (though we do heart Kate's style, the pieces look like something you can find just about anywhere -- and let's face it, anything looks good on Kate Moss). Decide for yourself here.

So we turn our mascara-drenched eyes to this very ladylike dress. With its sweet empire waist and round neckline, we can envision prancing around town all summer long in it. Paired with a chic cropped jacket, for work or play, and some sweet ballet flats, you'll be Audrey Hepburn-ing faster than you can exclaim, quite dramatically, 'I need a Roman Holiday!'

Available in sunny mustard or fab red for a steal here at Forever 21.

Free Paris?

Remember those Team Aniston and Team Jolie shirts? So five minutes ago. It's time to declare your stance on Hollywood's latest issue: Paris Hilton. Can't get enough of the heiress and can't bear to think of her doing time? Rock a FREE PARIS tee.

Loathe all that she stands for and wish she could go away for much longer? Gawker's DON'T FREE PARIS t-shirt is for you.

Couldn't give a hoo-ha either way, but also couldn't help but notice how cute her headband looked when she went for sentencing? We're with you. Treat yourself and liberate your locks from that hair rut with a vintage-inspired sparkly headband. They're the new tiaras, after all. And with our most famous heiress going down, now is the time for a new fashionista to declare her reign. Might as well be you.

Score a chic piece here at Stacy Lapidus.

Young and Fabulous

One of our best money-saving fashion secrets is that we shop (a lot) for darling dresses in the juniors section of our fave department stores. Our fash philosophy: If the dress fits, wear it.

On a recent style cruise, we scoped out a bevy of beauties, from fab floral numbers and babydolls to more grown-up and go-anywhere jersey frocks.

Find a fabulous frock or two and lighten up this spring right here at Nordstrom.

Hello Mr. Robinson

Target's next big-name designer collaboration is with Patrick Robinson, who's made his mark at Giorgio Armani, Anne Klein, Perry Ellis and Paco Rabanne, to namedrop a few.

The designer hautie and hottie -- you've probably seen his mug in Vogue and, if you're a complete fashionista, WWD -- has created a bohemian-chic collection filled with easy and elegant resortwear must-haves. We can see cruising the Hamptons (and by Hamptons, we mean our rooftop) in his swimsuits, dresses, shorts and, well, just about everything (love that tote!).

The collection debuts this Sunday right here at GO International, so get your fingertips ready if you want in on the high-design, limited-edition goodies at wallet-friendly prices ($12-$45). Until then, you can catch a sneak peek here.

Posh Across the Pond

It's hard to find a simple bag, with some spice, that can multitask, but our fave neighbors across the pond did.

The Silver Shopper Bag at Rockett St George is as good for toting groceries as it is your daily necessities like your files, lip gloss and light laptop or your gym essentials. Spot-on with spring's big trend of metallics, the glittering silver tote features a pop of hot pink with the interior lining and goes with literally everything in your closet.

Pick one up, and check out all of the new goodies like chic home accessories, fabulous gifts and more, right here at Rockett St George.

P.S. BussBuss readers receive an exclusive 20% off everything at Rockett St George with code BussBuss at checkout through May 31, 2007.

Gimme the Dish

With Mother's Day just around the corner and summer party season gearing up, we think these gorgeous dishtowels (who even knew dishtowels could be gorgeous?) are a must.

Making a haute hostess gift, Mother's Day gift or treat for yourself, they're almost too pretty to use -- and, dare we say, inspire us to want to be in the kitchen.

If you can't fathom dirtying them either, use them as decor by hanging a row along an empty kitchen wall (hello, insta-art) or even use them to make pillows. Crafty couture is so 2007.

Pick up your faves right here at Anthropologie.

P.S. Mother's Day is SO next week, May 13th to be exact! Find a fab gift in our:

{Mother's Day Gift Guide}
{Spring Bling Jewelry Guide}
{Spring Bag Guide}

We did all the work. You take all the credit. That's what BussBuss is all about.

Change Is Good

Lately we've been obsessed with itty-bitty bags like these darling Chubby Change Purses at Free People and the cuddly Clutchettes at Margaret Nicole. Perhaps it's our constant need to anthropomorphize everything, but we'd like to adopt one in each color and add them to our fashion family.

Or, maybe it's our personal backlash against all of the ginormous bags ruling the runways for the past few seasons. Or, maybe we just want to get organized. Um, right. Whatever it is, we think these lil bags also make really cute gifts, whether for Mother's Day or for your BFF's birthday.

Scout your faves here at Free People and at Margaret Nicole.
