August 06, 2008 : Screen Queen: PrettyRaccoon Clothing
|
Save your shirts with words for the gym and glam up your usual jeans and tee routine with something special from the Toronto-based PrettyRaccoon Clothing instead.
Perfect alone with jeans or with a cute boyfriend blazer or cardigan on top, we love the sweet and luxe images of chandeliers, oversized bows and pearl necklaces. If Marie Antoinette were alive today living in the East Village, she'd be rocking PrettyRaccoon Clothing.
There are also the requisite hipster images of deer, bicycles and owls and even a cute screenprinted scarf with an anchor for those of your feeling nautical, natch.
Where to glam up your tee repertoire?
Here at PrettyRaccoon Clothing.

July 29, 2008 : Get a Leg Up: Peacock Feather Tights
|
If Chanel's coveted two-tone tights are any indication, we'll all be knocking our socks off to get into drool-inducing tights and legwear this fall.
We say why not get a head start and make everyone you know envious with your avant-garde taste by scooping up a pair of these Look From London peacock feather tights while you can (because we are certain they will sell out as fast as those pricey Chanel numbers)?
Compared to $230, these seem like a steal at just $30 at ModCloth.

Looking for a casual but cool hoodie that's more downtown than logosized and that doesn't look like it's made for your 14-year-old cousin?
Get your clicks on a handmade hooded sweatshirt from New Zealand designer Victoria n' Bird.
We love the subtle detail of the grey and blue striped front panel, as well as the gathered sleeves, which creates a slight puff effect.
Pair it with some tres cute leggings and you'll be the coolest gym bunny on the block.
A short sleeve version is available too, as is a super darling scarf made from designer Karen Walker's balloon-print sweatshirting (we heart Karen Walker!).

July 24, 2008 : Prep U: Cheap-Chic Boyfriend Sweaters for YOU!
July 23, 2008 : Project Runway Our Way
|
We interrupt Sweater Week to bring you the only thing that could be more important: Project Runway!
Episode two airs tonight, which means if you want to bid on any of last week's frocks (or Blayne's geriatric playboy number), you only have a few more hours.
Where to bid?
ProjectRunway.com.
That's also where our very own editor Kelly Lee will be blogging her picks, predictions, rants, raves and faves. You can also catch her Project Runway: Behind the Seams installments in the BussBuss blog! Be sure to check in every week after the show.
Not only will she be dishing on the designers' creations and tracking Blayne's tanorexia and overuse of words ending in "licious," she'll tell you how you can get the looks created on the PR runways, give you the scoop on where you can buy some of the contestants' work NOW, show you how to win Project Runway goodies, and even tell you what your former fave designers are up to.

July 22, 2008 : It's a (Cashmere) Wrap at the Nordstrom Anniversary Sale
|
Welcome to day two of Sweater Week, where we get to share our obsession for staying warm with the likes of you and your fah-bu-lous self.
As people who rack up a lot of frequent flier miles, we're big fans of long scarves and wraps. Not only can they double as blankets on the plane, you can also wrap them around those nasty used pillows the airlines provide for more restful slumber. And, they just look so chic on chilly days and nights, when you're sipping your fave drinky drink oceanside or at that hidden outdoor cafe.
Which explains why we are la-la-loving this airy ribbed cashmere wrap. It's super generous size makes it very versatile and we love that we can nab it in dreamy heather oat or classic black.
The best part? It's normally $99, but since Nordstrom is having their great anniversary sale, you can get it for just $64. But only until August 4, when prices on fall items go back to their regular price.
Be sure to take advantage of the sale while it lasts and find lots of other fall goodies (shoes, bags, denim) for prices that won't be as low until after Christmas.
Shop the sale!
p.s. Get free shipping when you spend $200 or more, too!

July 21, 2008 : Cashmere for Under $30 -- Yeah, We're That Good
|
Discovery Channel has Shark Week, but as Mark Twain never said "The coldest winter I ever spent was a summer in San Francisco," so BussBuss is kicking off Sweater Week. For our own selfish needs. Hoping those of you prone to chills even in 90-degree weather (like us) will enjoy.
The hunt for cashmere that won't break the bank has become something of a competitive sport here at BussBuss HQ (thank goodness, as it's the only cardio we're getting these days -- we're too cold to do anything else).
Sure, Old Navy had some good cashmere sweaters last year that were scooped up faster than Manolos at a sample sale. But unless you're lucky enough to live by an Uniqlo, where you can find some cashmere sweaters in the $60 range, scoring cashmere that's affordable is about as easy as looking like someone on The Sartorialist, which is to say easy in theory, but much harder in execution.
Luckily though, we were in the frame of mind of bringing sexy back and remembered our unfairly hot friends at Victoria's Secret.
The real secret? Skip the bras and panties (all of young Hollywood does!) and head straight for the sweater section, where you can acquire ivy league-esque silk and cashmere boyfriend cardigans for a mere $29.
Keep the look Mary Kate-grunge by wearing an American Apparel tee underneath or go for a more polished look, a la Blair Waldorf, with a white button-down and belt your lovely concoction at the waist.
More styles, including turtlenecks and v-necks, in a slew of colors await.

Finally, you can score some gorgeous green gems at a fraction of the price (25% off).
We're loving the Super Lucky Cat tops -- each is made from vintage fabrics and is one-of-a-kind, and now less than $50 a pop...er, top.
There are some great dresses, bags, sunglasses and more that all evoke an arty ingenue vibe, so if you're a fan of Mary Kate, Selma Blair or Kate Hudson's styles, you're sure to love these treasures.

July 10, 2008 : Mayle Call: 60% Off Coupon Code
|
We've loved Jane Mayle ever since we dwelled in the same neighborhood as her fah-bu-lous Manhattan boutique.
But, we never could quite cough up the green to actually own any of the ah-mazing bags, accessories or clothing by the covetable designer.
Which is why we're SO excited to score this 60% off coupon code on her spring collection (thanks for the heads up Refinery29!).
We love the Circus Braid belt, originally $175, now just $70 with the code, as well as all of the bags. They're just so darling and different from everything else out there in Fashion Land.

July 09, 2008 : Frock Their Socks Off: Barcelona's Cocotte Couture
|
In need of a fabulous frock to knock the Loubies off of the most in-the-know fashion insiders (perhaps you're planning your NY Fashion Week wardrobe already...or just have an art gallery opening to attend)?
Indulge in a one-of-a-kind dress from Barcelona label Cocotte.
Based on the idea of a creative, independent, romantic woman with natural elegance and a strong sense of humor, we're loving the interesting cuts and playful details (pleating, copper, stud and chunky Swarovski crystal buttons, peter pan collars, golden grommets, puffy sleeves, to name but a few covetable details).
We're dying to own any of the dresses or skirts in the African wax cotton, but are also eyeing some of the softer solids.
To view photo inspiration, head to Cocotte's blog.
Or, to buy in a click (custom orders also available), shop Cocoette on Etsy.

July 07, 2008 : Romper Boom: Show Off Your Legs Without Losing Your Green
|
Have you noticed the rise in rompers lately? And we're not talking about those for the kindergarten set.
While we realize they're not for everyone, we've seen many an adorable hipster girl making them work big time (plus, they're much easier than dresses for riding your bike and running around town -- hello, no panty peek-a-boo!). And if you've got great legs, why not show them off this summer?
The easiest way to work this retro, unexpected look, which we could totally see vintage Carrie Bradshaw donning?
Super laidback as a beach cover-up. Just pair with some chic sandals and your fab swimsuit and you're out the door.
On cooler days and nights, we also love them paired with monotone leggings or tights and flats with a little cardigan on top. We saw the cutest girl rocking this look at the Murakami exhibit at the Brooklyn Museum a few months ago and have been inspired ever since -- she looked like a perfect, pint-sized Rockette.
Or, make like Nicole Richie and glam your romper up with some fab heels and a chic belt.
Whatever your choice, you can nab a darling romper, without giving away the rent, right here and here!

June 19, 2008 : You're Invited to a Tea Party: Introducing Domestic Construction
|
What happens when two vintage-loving super-talented designer friends put their heads -- and hands -- together?
Domestic Construction.
Maureen Walsh, Uncle Bikes clothing designer -- and former BussBuss alum, and Trish Andersen, Anthropologie's Fifth Avenue store display coordinator, met in the fibers department at SCAD and, as most young designers do these days, eventually moved to Brooklyn, where they formed the fab new design studio specializing in interiors, environments and one-of-a kind fashion and home products.
You can scope out their debut line of dresses crafted from vintage fabrics and hand screen-printed pillows at Domestic Construction (and buy at a Renegade Craft Fair near you).
But it's their ted lights, made with vintage teacups, that we're swooning over, and that you can nab right now on Etsy if you're fast enough.
Imagine hanging one, or a cluster, over your kitchen or dining room table for a statement all your Scandinavian-design-loving friends would sell their first-borns for. They'd also make such a fab, unexpected gift.

June 18, 2008 : Grumpy Girl Discovers New Body Part: Dessert Stomach!
|
We needed something to make us smile today, and this did the trick.
What girl out there doesn't have a 'dessert stomach?'
Grumpy Girl estimates -- and we heartily concur -- that "about 99% of women have it, yet you'll never see it in any anatomy book. The dessert stomach. It's there, trust us.
C'mon now. You've gone out to dinner and felt completely stuffed after your entree, yet when the waiter comes around and asks if you want to see the dessert menu, your face lights up and you exclaim, 'Sure!'
It doesn't matter how full your stomach is. The dessert stomach is distinctly separate."
We couldn't have said it better ourselves, which is why we didn't even try.
Thank you for making our day, Grumpy Girl.

Another day, another fabulous sale.
Today's sale and site in the spotlight?
Queen Bee.
Other than the fact that this is Blair Waldorf's (and little Jenny's for a brief moment) moniker in Gossip Girl and the fact that BussBuss got engaged on Newbury Street in Boston, where the Queen Bee boutique is based, we're loving that we can score dresses, tops, sweaters, jackets, shirts, denim and shoes by Tibi, Shoshanna, Splendid, Diane von Furstenberg, Trina Turk, Lauren Moffatt, Milly, Rebecca Taylor, Hudson, James Jeans, Dolce Vita and more at up to 70% off.

April 29, 2008 : She's Got Legs: A La Gossip Girl & The Hills
|
OMFG. Last night, we totally had a TVgasm.
Not only did we have the pleasure of viewing the best episode of Gossip Girl. Ever. But we also got to view one of the best episodes of The Hills. Ever. Seriously, how much do we want LC and Stephen Colletti to get married? And how much are we loving the devious antics of new GG character Georgina Sparks?
Speaking of Gossip Girl love, are we the only ones who think it's the best replacement for Sex and the City (fuggetaboutit Lipstick Jungle or Cashmere Mafia -- le snooze)?
During all the euphoria, we happened to find enough clarity to notice girls on both shows rocking the same trend: lame leggings. Or were they leather? Either way, the look is the same.
Sure, they both play villains (one was Heidi Montag, the other Georgina Sparks played by Michelle Trachtenberg), and the look is a bit S&M meets '80s, but we think they're actually a fun way to wear dresses while still covering your gams in the evening.
Feeling adventurous? Scandalous? Devious?

April 24, 2008 : Vintage Love: Ma Petite Amy Vintage
|
The best way to add interest to your look when you feel like it's becoming too predictable? Vintage.
Incorporating vintage accessories and frocks is what some of the most notable style icons these days do. But sometimes vintage is so ridiculously expensive, which takes all of the fun out of it. We prefer the days when buying vintage meant treasure-hunting and being proud to say you scored that cool one-of-a-kind bag for $2.
Which is why we're loving Ma Petite Amy Vintage.
With most dresses ringing in under $40, it's easy to do that thing Mary Kate, Ashley and Rachel Bilson do so well. Plus, we love the styling and are happy to take lots of inspiration from the photos.

P.S. Remember, everything is one-of-a-kind, so if you see something you love, snatch it up fast before someone else with great taste does!

April 10, 2008 : Shop We Love: b*fly by Bluefly
|
Our friends over at Bluefly, purveyor of designer looks for less, just sent word that they launched b*fly, a new online boutique that links haute couture with casual wear.
In their own words: "b*fly breaks free of the shopping norms by enabling modern fashionistas to shop by trend and to mix and match b*fly's new contemporary casuals with their favorite couture pieces from Bluefly.com."
In other words, they realize people with great personal style don't dress head-to-toe in one designer and it's all about the mix (hello Kate Moss) and wanted to add much more hip, up-and-coming designers to their current roster of more established designers.
The best part? Like at Bluefly, the items on b*fly are up to 40% off.
Is there a chic way to say woohoo?
We're loving that bags by Rebecca Minkoff, Bulga, Goldenbleu, Alexis Hudson, Kooba and Kale are now much more affordable and that we can essentially find all the brands we love from sites like Shopbop and Pink Mascara always on sale (apparel by J Brand, Hudson, Twelfth Street By Cynthia Vincent, jewelry by Lee Angel, CC Skye, Rachel Leigh, shoes by Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Frye).
Pretty fly.

April 03, 2008 : Found! Free Personal Shopper Who Loves Saving You Money: Shop It To Me
|
What's better than having a personal shopper?
Having a personal shopper who tells you when your favorite things -- in your size -- go on sale.
That's exactly what the fabulously addictive site Shop It To Me does.
For free.
Brilliant.
Before you head off to Perez, take a quick moment to tell Shop It To Me your fave brands (Chloe, Kate Spade, Marc Jacobs, Mike & Chris, Prada, BCBG, Juicy, Ralph Lauren, Nine West, Miu Miu, Michael Kors, Free People, Louis Vuitton, Citizens of Humanity, etc.) and your size preferences. It only takes a minute and is actually rather fun.
They'll then email you a daily or weekly summary of which new items go on sale in your size.
Too good to be real? Unlike most of Hollywood's tatas, Shop It To Me actually is the real deal.

April 01, 2008 : Do You DaWanda? Shop the Etsy of Europe!
|
Ever wonder what designers across the pond are up to? Not the big names you can get in every major city, but the independent designers you'd find on sites like Etsy here in the States?
Wonder no more.
DaWanda, the Etsy of Europe, will let you get your fix.
And even though exchange rates aren't exactly in our favor these days, you can still score great deals.
For instance, this darling teapot necklace made from polymer clay would make such a sweet birthday or Mother's Day gift and costs just $6 EUR plus $2 EUR to ship via USPS Priority Mail (if math hurts your head -- and we feel your pain, that means you'll pay about $12 and get your goodies from Sofia, the designer in Bulgaria, in 7-10 days).
It's like having a jet-setting BFF send you goodies from afar, a style pen-pal of sorts -- but better because you get to pick them out yourself.
Way more affordable than booking a ticket to Europe, stroll the virtual market and impress your friends with one-of-a-kind gifts, art and fashion.
Take a trip to DaWanda!

February 01, 2008 : Go Big Or Go Home: SATC Style In Bloom
|
With our latest obsession Gossip Girl in reruns, we've had a lot more time to invest in obsessing over Sex and the City: The Movie, spring fashion and Valentine's Day (prepare for the most adorable, most fabulous Valentine's Day Gift Guide ever next week -- humbleness is so 2007 apparently).
But back to the present.
What theme do all three of our current obsessions have in common?
Florals, of course.
Carrie's rocking them again, larger and more in charger than ever, in SATC: The Movie. Flowers bloomed all over the spring 2008 runways. And Valentine's Day is not just about unrealistically high expectations and binging on chocolate, but about overpaying for flowers, too.
We say skip the roses on V-day this year and treat yourself to this darling corsage sweater jacket instead.
These flowers will never wilt and there's an adorable bow in the back, ruffles and a scalloped edge. Presh.

January 28, 2008 : Prints Charming: For the Love of Hayden-Harnett
|
With Valentine's Day just about a fortnight away, it's only fitting to dish about our love of New York-based boyfriend-girlfriend design duo Hayden-Harnett.
We've waxed poetic about the up-and-coming label in the past. First there were those bags, then those darling coin purses and accessories, then their debut apparel line.
Now we feel like we've fallen in love all over again with their latest clothing and accessories offerings.
Their use of French artist Paule Marrot's prints and artwork (Jackie O. loved Marrot as well, so we're in good company) is brilliant. From the dresses to the trenches to the bags, it all feels very Diane von Furstenberg in the '70s, but with a distinctly modern and unique twist. Think mod-safari chic.
One visit will have you feeling like jetting off to somewhere exotic and doing something different for a change. Like showing up to work on time (imagine that), this time with all eyeballs on your fab new look.
While checking out all the new goodies, be sure to scoop up some fantastic finds in the sale section. They're going fast, so make like a cheetah -- remember, it's a jungle out there.

January 03, 2008 : How to Look Like a Style Icon
|
I don't know about you, but getting organized in '08 sounds just about as exciting as a lobotomy in '09. Been there, done that, thanks.
While I'm all for making like Eminem and cleaning out my closet -- to make room for new chic fabulosities -- and am happy to donate my fashion faux pas to the poor (i.e. my friend's younger college-aged sister and her friends), I'd rather focus on my Obsessive Consumption Disorder. By buying more, naturally.
But not just for the sake of buying, but for the cause of buying what I love (diamonds, cashmere, cupcakes) and, in the words of Oprah, trying to live my best (most stylish) life.
There are tons of so-called style rules by so-called fashion experts, but when it comes down to it, the key to looking like a style icon instead of a fashion victim comes down to just two very simple questions. Drum roll, please...
When shopping, always ask yourself these two questions...

And we are loving the vintage '60s vibe of these cocktail dresses. There's something very Cynthia Rowley meets Kate Spade meets cocktails around the glittering pool in Palm Springs about them.
Plus, they're all on sale at Macy's Veteran's Day Sale, where you'll find a lot of great things at up to 50% off.
Take a peek at chic at Macy's.
P.S. Be sure to take a moment to thank all the veterans in your life. After all, what would your life be like without them?

September 10, 2007 : Fall Fashion Guide: Yellow Pops
|
Yellow made a surprising yet satisfying appearance on the runways, appearing on everything from tops to dresses and jackets. The jaunty hue added a perfect splash of color and mod cheer to a dark, moody fall color palette and felt so fresh and spot-on for the season.
Some designers referred to it as saffron, sunflower yellow, gold or even citron, but regardless of what you call it, be sure to buy something in the yellow family this fall.
Not comfortable in head-to-toe yellow? Sport it in small doses via a fab pair of shoes or a statement bag.

September 07, 2007 : Fall Fashion Guide: Make a Plaid Dash
|
You've got a new plaiditude. Let Britain invade. Tartan it up. Get anglomaniacal. The pattern for fall is positively plaid.
And the look of plaid this season is preppy meets punk, with cool rocker-chick undertones. Think prep-school cool.
Whether you opt for large bold doses, a la full-length coats, or small doses, a la belts, bags and shoes, make a plaid dash for this fun trend.

August 30, 2007 : Sweet Petaline
|
When it comes to home decor and fashion, we think it's best when your accessories are as unique as possible. They're those statement pieces that really show who you are and your personal style. Are you really a mass-produced poster kind of girl? We didn't think so.
Which is why we're loving the new boutique Petaline. Selling a well-curated selection of handmade, one-of-a-kind home accessories, art, photography, jewelry, bags and clothing from Pacific Northwest artists, Petaline is a rare jewel -- a spot to find things that are actually made with heart.
Can we be expected to resist pillows by Kristin Loffer Theiss? She freehand draws each one with her sewing machine, like an etch-a-sketch (re: sew amazing).
Or Kate Endle's original collages (so sweet and so affordable).
And, of course, we believe you should look as good as your home, which is why we're loving the gorgeous bags by Jamie Irene and Sabrina Love Handbags, as well as Suzabelle's statement trench coat and Keri D'Angelo's earrings.
Find your own favorites, and save 20% with code BUSS20PETAL at checkout through September 30, 2007, at Petaline.

August 03, 2007 : Haute Shop of the Week: Zappos
|
We loved the original Zappos, the shoe site that also sold some handbags and became popular for their fab shipping and return policy: free shipping and free return shipping for 365 days.
But now we're over the moon. Why? Zappos now sells clothing too, including swimsuits. And yes, that same shipping and return policy applies. In fact, they now offer free overnight shipping on everything (seriously).
You know how we feel about instant gratification and it doesn't get more instant in the world of online shopping than free overnight shipping.
But we're most grateful that we never again have to face those horrid dressing room lights. There is a shopping god.
We're also loving Zappos Couture, which offers higher-end bags, shoes, accessories and clothing from Goldenbleu, Hollywould, Kate Spade, Cole Haan, Marc Jacobs, Sigerson Morrison, Costume National y muchas mas.
Indulge in free overnight shipping, and the fabulousness that is the future of online shopping, right here at Zappos.

July 13, 2007 : Haute Shop of the Week: Net-a-Porter
|
We love entrepreneurs, especially ones who fill a niche and are passionate about what they're doing, whether it's the salacious Perez Hilton or the clever Sarah Blakely of Spanx fame.
Which is exactly what chic entrepreneuress Natalie Massenet did (see her write-up in this month's Vogue July issue). As the founder of Net-a-porter (a cheeky play on pret-a-porter), she serves up delicious doses of luxury designer goodies that you can't find anywhere else online.
Think clothing, bags, shoes and accessories by Chloe, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Oscar de la Renta, 3.1. Phillip Lim, Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen, Michael Kors and Stella McCartney, to namedrop a few.
We love scouring the sale section, where we're currently drooling over these glam Miu Miu ballerina flats and pintuck dress (both half off!).
If you're a luxe-loving designer darling, find your faves by shopping Net-a-porter.
P.S. Wonder what happened to Girlshop? They closed their doors last month, but never fear, Net-a-porter purchased Girlshops's customer list and is offering their higher-end wares to Girlshop refugees.

June 29, 2007 : Haute Shop of the Week: Modishoppe
|
In celebration of independent design and the success of her indie shopping blog Modish, Jen Coray opened the virtual doors to Modishoppe in April 2007.
Since, she's been featuring a coolly edited collection of handmade goods that span from handbags, hoodies and jewelry to paper, home and gifts. It's like shopping Etsy but with a really in-the-know friend (i.e. her keen eye for hip handcrafted treasures does the digging for you).
We're especially fond of the animal-laden accessories, such as the birdie keychains by Kwoozy and the elephant wristlets by Blissful. But we're not all about fauna, we need our flora fix too. Enter Brooke Medlin's rose-shaped earrings.
Both the beauty and the curse of Modishoppe is that Coray only carries a few (sometimes only one) of each item, so if you see something you love, scoop it up fast before it's gone forever. The upside? No fear of ever having the same thing as anyone else and a constantly changing collection.
Scope out all the current treasures here at Modishoppe.
P.S. Modishoppe loves BussBuss too and is offering 10% off with code bussmod at checkout exclusively to our readers!

June 26, 2007 : Chic Custom Suits
|
After years of practice, we finally feel like we've come into our own in terms of personal style. But sadly, when it comes time to hit the beach or the poolside cabana, we feel like our swimwear choices don't live up to our day and eveningwear choices. The reason? We can't find anything we love -- and that suits us -- at the traditional shops.
Our philosophy? If you can't find what you're looking for, you might as well have it custom made for you. So we scoured the web for a few under-the-radar choices that are sure to please.
1) Miss Braches on Etsy makes Bond Girl-cool and girly-sweet suits that are sure to cause triple takes at the beach. All suits are made to order, so you can specify a size, give your exact measurements or write the designer with any special requests for a custom fit. You can also have molded cups added, too (thank goodness).
2) Harajuku on Etsy also handmakes hipster suits with retro appeal. Everything is made-to-order and can be customized to address your needs.
3) A must for vintage-loving hauties who want to feel like screen sirens, Esther Williams Swimwear is foxy and fabulous. Choose your style, fabric and size right here at Retrodress.
The best part? All of the above suits are less than $100. Which, when you think about it, is a steal for self-confidence and stunning style.

June 22, 2007 : Haute Shop of the Week: Cut + Paste
|
As one of the first independent online shops on the block, Jenny Kwok's Cut + Paste has been helping pave the way for emerging designers and crafters since 2002 with its well-curated collection of handmade clothing, jewelry, accessories, paper products and more.
And it's only gotten better over the years, serving up gigantic doses of hipness and featuring over 300 designers along the way. The best part is knowing you'll never be wearing the same thing (or giving the same gift) as someone else when you shop at Cut + Paste.
If absolutely forced to pick favorites (it's like choosing your fave offspring), we'd point to Erica Weiner's cicada earrings, smil's love doll brooch, Desira Pesta's diamond print tunic, and pinecone & chickadee's cards.
But we suggest you set aside a few minutes (okay, hours... okay, days) to drool over all the Partners in Craft and find your own faves right here at Cut + Paste.

June 15, 2007 : Haute Shop of the Week: Etsy
|
{Dying to see the Haute Shop of the Week? Let's get it on, style lover!}
We must confess, BussBuss has quite the addictive personality (very La Lohan of us, we know). In fact, we've considered checking into rehab on more than one occasion for our addiction to milkshakes, vintage dresses and cupcakes, to confess a few.
But our latest obsession these days has been over the indie goodness that is Etsy. In case you've been shopping under a rock for the past year or two, Etsy is the spot to find handmade clothing, accessories, home goodies and gifts direct from the artists, crafters and designers themselves (from all over the world).
Think of it as a hipster Ebay, minus the stress of bidding. The best part? Everything is surprisingly affordable (no retail markup rocks!) and you can bookmark your favorite sellers and then browse by who their fave sellers are too. It's never-ending indie awesomeness.
Discover your faves, and prepare to join us in rehab, here at Etsy.

June 12, 2007 : Makool Loves You and Babbu
|
{Hello, fabulous. Welcome to the first installment of Fashion Tuesdays, where we'll be spotlighting one fab find in fashion weekly. We hope you enjoy!}
In these days of media overstimulation, it's rare that we have a reaction to anything, especially as strong a one as we did to Makool Clothing.
Best described as Frenchie meets indie (think Amelie), the Portland-based independent clothing line by designer Anisa Makhoul is redefining the ABCs of cool with its alphabet tops and shorts. The quirky-cool sensibility feels just right for summer and we can imagine attending many a rooftop party in Makhoul's fresh creations.
Browse the entire collection here at Makool Clothing and shop for select limited-edition pieces at online boutique Makool Loves You. You'll also find exclusive creations by Anisa Makhoul's favorite artists, like Italian-based Babbu. We heart the circus bags and would love to don one at the Renegade Craft Fair in Brooklyn this weekend, while noshing on cotton candy.
P.S. Be sure to check out the birdies and their bios in the handmade section -- you won't be able to resist the urge to adopt one.

May 31, 2007 : Dress Up at Shop Rapunzels
|
It's no secret that we BussBuss girls are addicted to dresses. From vintage and cheap-chic to blow-the-rent custom and couture, dresses are our style vice. And now that the weather's warming up, we're ready to stock up.
So, we headed to Shop Rapunzels where we nearly pulled a Scarlett O'Hara (swoon). With so many lovely frocks to choose from, we're considering hiring a personal assistant to simply help us make a decision.
Find faves like Fighting Eel, Ella Moss, C&C California, Juicy Couture, Susana Monaco, Lauren Moffatt, Puella, Free People, Minnie Rose, Splendid, Rachel Pally, Karanina, Velvet, Deesh, T-Bags, Saint Grace and Da-Nang, to namedrop a few.
And we'll need a second assistant to help us decide between the shoes (Sam Edelman, Jeffrey Campbell, Dolce Vita, Farylrobin, Havaianas, Mystique, the list goes on).
Find a fab summer frock (or five) right here at Shop Rapunzels.
P.S. BussBuss readers receive an exclusive 15% off with code BUSSBUSS at checkout! Also, be sure scope out the sale section -- up to 75% off!

May 24, 2007 : Have a Patricia Field Day
|
Any girl worth her fashionista salt realizes how much Patricia Field changed the face of fashion. After all, SJP wasn't a style icon before Pat Field made her (and Carrie) one on Sex and the City (think of all the designers who owe her for making them legendary too -- a certain Manolo Blahnik comes to mind).
Luckily for the rest of us, we can get in on Field's fabulously eclectic style in just a few clicks by shopping her online boutique. Find all of the off-kilter elements that made Carrie's outfits work, like Noir heart lip earrings and popsicle necklaces, Heatherette hoodies, Betseyville bags, Judi Rosen jumpers and uber-cool vintage Burberry and Lanvin sunglasses. And yes, you can even find custom nameplate necklaces, too.
Pat Field realizes it's about the mix and there's no better spot to find pieces to mix it up than right here at Patricia Field.
P.S. Patricia Field loves BussBuss too and is offering all readers an exclusive 15% off with code bussbuss at checkout!

May 13, 2007 : Happy To Be Bleu
|
In-the-know and hard-to-satisfy stylistas know to head to Le Train Bleu to fulfill their fashion fantasies. We're loving the new crop of spring/summer goodies and designers, especially the creations by up-and-comers Vena Cava. The Zumi Dress and Caraway Cardigan, both featuring black Havasu print on cream backgrounds, show edgy sophistication and are just the right choice for that Gatsby lawn party this summer (even if said party solely exists in your daydreams).
Too rich for your blue blood or haven't quite inherited your trust fund yet? Pick up a pair of Rosemary's Flats in white -- the perfect summer flat for a very accessible price.
Be bleu right here at Le Train Bleu.

May 09, 2007 : Roman Holiday
|
While everyone in fashion blogland is going cuckoo for Kate Moss at Barney's, we're not really seeing what the big deal-i-o is (though we do heart Kate's style, the pieces look like something you can find just about anywhere -- and let's face it, anything looks good on Kate Moss). Decide for yourself here.
So we turn our mascara-drenched eyes to this very ladylike dress. With its sweet empire waist and round neckline, we can envision prancing around town all summer long in it. Paired with a chic cropped jacket, for work or play, and some sweet ballet flats, you'll be Audrey Hepburn-ing faster than you can exclaim, quite dramatically, 'I need a Roman Holiday!'
Available in sunny mustard or fab red for a steal here at Forever 21.

May 04, 2007 : Hello Mr. Robinson
|
Target's next big-name designer collaboration is with Patrick Robinson, who's made his mark at Giorgio Armani, Anne Klein, Perry Ellis and Paco Rabanne, to namedrop a few.
The designer hautie and hottie -- you've probably seen his mug in Vogue and, if you're a complete fashionista, WWD -- has created a bohemian-chic collection filled with easy and elegant resortwear must-haves. We can see cruising the Hamptons (and by Hamptons, we mean our rooftop) in his swimsuits, dresses, shorts and, well, just about everything (love that tote!).
The collection debuts this Sunday right here at GO International, so get your fingertips ready if you want in on the high-design, limited-edition goodies at wallet-friendly prices ($12-$45). Until then, you can catch a sneak peek here.

April 30, 2007 : What's On Top
|
On a recent jaunt to LA, we noticed many a girl expertly pulling off a fab spring look that can often read as, um, tarty: short shorts worn with slouchy boots. The key to making it work? Paying attention to what's on top.
Sweet, youthful and loose, this Avery Button Top makes the look bohemian-chic rather than street-cheap. Score it right here at the always youthful, playful and fun Delias.

April 19, 2007 : Green With Glamour
|
Glamazons probably think 'green' and 'eco' sound about as appealing as Wal-Mart and a Big Mac, so will be that much more surprised by Green With Glamour.
Dedicated to all things eco-chic, the new e-tique serves up a bevy of lovely goods, including sky-high Charmone sandals, cruelty-free bone earrings, hip reconstructed Super Lucky Cat retro tunics and tops, and even fabulous homewares like spotted shell napkin rings, which would make the perf hostess gift.
Find lots of lovelies for wearing, living and giving right here at Green With Glamour.

April 18, 2007 : Get in the Greenloop
|
Looking to support all things green and independent without sacrificing style? Check out Greenloop, a hip online boutique expertly merging ethics and aesthetics.
We love the iWood sunglasses, which are crafted from sustainably harvested wood and have a very retro Kate Spade vibe -- perfect for our new sexy '60s beach-chic look we're going for this season.
The Passenger Pigeon Norah Reversible Wrap Dress is also fab -- we're suckers for versatility and getting two cool dresses in one is about as versatile as it gets.
Scope out the entire shop, which includes fashion-forward labels like Edun, Grace & Cello, Loomstate, Loyale, Carol Young Undesigned, Stewart+Brown and many more, right here at Greenloop.

March 30, 2007 : Mod Squad
|
Meet our two new best friends: Sophia and Alfie. Introduced to us by the masterminds behind hipster handbag line hayden-harnett.
We've been quite fond of hayden-harnett handbags for some time now and were super excited to see they recently launched a clothing line as well. Like their bags, everything's very hipster yet accessible, on trend without being too trendy, and we can't wait to stock up on their latest offerings.
Our faves? The mod and very darling babydoll and a-line dresses (see Sophia and Alfie) in vibrant hues like yellow, red, blue and green. Splurge a little this spring right here at hayden-harnett.

March 27, 2007 : Kiss Me Kate
|
Lately we've been having a total style crush on Kate Spade. In a handbag design world that offers up one oversized leather monstrosity after another, we find Kate's creations to be refreshingly unique, colorful and just plain smart. And while we think her bags are tres chic, it's actually everything else that we're lusting after, like this graphic cape code apron top.
We're also adding to our wishlist her glam hair accessories, paper products and, of course, the shoes. And one peruse of the sale section had us ga-ga-ing over the abbeville gogo tunic -- yum!
Are you in love too? Check out all the fabulously fresh offerings and find out right here at Kate Spade.
p.s. Be sure to check out Behind the Curtain, featuring news and ideas from the Kate Spade Design Studio (total eye candy and very inspirational).

March 01, 2007 : Spring Trend Spotlight: Primary Pops
|
For spring, neutral colors ruled the runways, but a refreshing dash of blue was used to spruce up a great number of the spring collections. It looked great monochromatically on dresses and tunics and is one of those rare colors that flatter most complexions. The most of-the-moment hues are cobalt, electric and royal blue, but a paler, sea blue and turquoise also added a dash of novelty to the menagerie of beiges, creams, nudes, blacks and whites.
Yellow also popped on the runways and golden girls like Reese Witherspoon have already picked up on the new hue (remember that Nina Ricci number at the Golden Globes?). If yellow doesn't flatter your skin tone, flaunt this trend in accessory form instead with a yellow bag (so fresh), belt or fabulous pair of shoes. Other hues {click here to read more...}

February 28, 2007 : Spring Trend Spotlight: Rich Embellishments

This season, go on and embellish. From embroidery to metallics, the time is now for special detailed extras. We love the innovative chunky crystal embellishments seen on everything from dresses to bags (did you scope out all of those embellished necklines at the Oscars?). The look is futuristic, fresh and glam in an unconventional way and one of our favorite trends of the season. Sparkly sequins, high-gloss patent leather and chain metal all {click here to read more...}

|
Are you a fashionista with Champagne taste and a lollipop budget? New York designer darlings Lazaro Hernandez and Jack McCollough of Proenza Schouler have just debuted their line for Target's GO International collection.
We're digging several of the youthful looks, and love the playful use of color. We especially love that we can get one of their signature bustier dresses for $1300 less (that's no typo folks) than their luxe line. Check out all of the looks and scoop up your faves at Target.

Anyone who knows us knows we're big fans of the sweet life, hence our champagne and lollypops lifestyle. And we're certainly fans of sweet sales. Right now, Dolce Vita is having one heck of a sale and we're completely snagging this trench coat (that doubles as a dress) for an unbelievable price.
While we're at it, we'll finally indulge in some darling wedges and smokin' hot boots too. Scope out all the lovelies right here at Dolce Vita.

January 23, 2007 : Hello Yellow
|
If you loved Reese Witherspoon's Golden Globes look as much as we did, but don't exactly have $12,000 to spend on a frock (which is what her fresh Nina Ricci canary yellow number is rumored to have cost -- not that she paid for it, of course), then perhaps this 'inspired' version will fit the bill. Like Reese, you'll stun your ex, your future lover and even yourself with your gorgeousness. Scoop it up, and be sure to check out the kazillions of other fab frocks, at dress-lovers' paradise eDressMe.
HAUTE TOPIC: We wanna know what you think of knockoffs and celeb-inspired looks. Our take? While we don't think this takes away sales from the original designer (after all, does someone who will pay $12k for a dress really overlap with someone who spends $200?), we do think the original designer should get some kind of royalties for a certain period of time, but until that law's enacted, it's just the nature of the biz.

January 11, 2007 : Star Style
|
We get a lot of questions rolling in to our Kelly's Klicks column, but one we get over and over again has to do with celebrity style. You wanna know where to score the looks celebs like Lindsay, SJP, Sienna, Kate and Jessica are rocking. And since it's awards season, we figured there's no time like the present to tell you where to get clicking.
So in our latest column, we've rounded up some of the most popular celeb shopping sites. Click here to see what they are and remember, you're always a star to us.

January 05, 2007 : The Farmlife
|
While we've never had any desire to live on a farm, we have plenty of desire to own The Farmlife tee by NoCal designer extraordinaire Jill Bliss. Colorful and full of life, this tee sums up everything we're going to love about living on the left coast. Plus, it's recently come to our attention that wineries are technically farms (umm, grape farms), so maybe we are farm girls at heart – dressed in urban girls' clothing that is.
Pick up a limited-edition tee (or tote or calendar or badgeset) at the very gorgeous Blissen right here.

December 22, 2006 : A Frockin' New Year
|
Modern hipster hauties will totally fall in love with anything by Hawaii-based Fighting Eel. Produced from a mutual love of fashion and vacation, the sexy modal dresses are casual but in a very sophisticated way (thanks to ultra-cool details). And while they’re not exactly what we'd normally refer to as affordable for the average bear, they aren't totally insane either. And now's the perfect time to treat yourself to making it through another year and another holiday season anyway. Plus, you're guaranteed to have the hippest New Year's Eve dress in town.
Scope out all of your dressy options at the drool-worthy Active Endeavors.
And from all of us at BussBuss, we wish you a very Merry Chrismukkah!

December 19, 2006 : Forever Mad for Plaid
|
We can't stop obsessing about this rad plaid top at Forever 21. We're total suckers for anything ruffly and love how this could easily go in a rock'n'roll direction when paired with the right accessories. What we're most floored by is that it's 100% silk.
Score your very own rad plaid silk blouse right here at Forever 21 (and order by midnight tonight to get free express shipping when you spend $75 or more).

December 13, 2006 : Give 'Em the Slip
|
It's no secret how much we adore dresses around here and we're big fans of Edge of Urge. And while this champagne frock is technically a nighty night sleep slip, we can see dressing it up, perhaps with something black and lacy, and rockin' it for NYE. It also would look great under an Edge of Urge dawnie dress.
Play dress up right here at Edge of Urge.
{Speaking of champagne and frocks, don't forget to RSVP to our Fashion + Shopping Soiree tomorrow night!}

November 15, 2006 : Shoe La Love
|
In pursuit of even more darling holiday party dresses, we came across these amazing embossed leather flats at Anthropologie here. We are in love and want them in every yummy shade: tangerine, eggplant and graphite blue.
Plus, the tangerines would look really fresh with this sparkling satin dress and the eggplants paired with this ivory shift would be very unexpected at a holiday bash – in a good way.
P.S. Need a fab gift for that hostess with the mostest, a coworker, pet, lil one, grandparents or fave family? Check out tomorrow's Holiday Gift Guide for Everyone Else, including great stocking stuffers too!

November 09, 2006 : Rockett St George
|
Recently we got a note from our friends across the pond letting us know they had opened up a brilliant new online gift shop featuring accessories, home goodies and more from some of the UK's freshest talent. At first click, we were in love. Kind of like the Mighty Flirt of the UK, the shop specializes in up-and-coming British-based designers. We're fawning over all the gorgeous prints-intense pieces like the bags, pillows and robes.
Find gifts for guys, kids, your home and, always most importantly, YOU, right here at the scrumptious Rockett St George (and yes, they ship to the US).

November 01, 2006 : GO Behnaz
|
Target's latest GO International designer, Behnaz Sarafpour, is dishing out uptown chic at downtown prices. While we don't love all of the looks, there are a few we're coveting, such as the A-List Princess (big surprise!) and Skyline Nights. And we especially like the oversized lace duffle bag (would make a great gift too - wink, wink).
Scope out the looks and score the ones you love now (it's limited edition and tends to go fast). Shop Behnaz at Target right here.

October 24, 2006 : Wallpaper Cardigan
|
Living in a rental, any desire to wallpaper goes right out the window. Which is tough every time we pick up Domino magazine. Sigh. But luckily we can get our wallpaper fix in fashion form. The Wallpaper Ella Cardigan looks so girly but elegant and captures the whole modern baroque trend. It also feels very Marie Antoinette, which we're all about these days.
Scoop it up in red or black right here at Delias. Plus, on orders of $75+, get free shipping and $25 in Daisy Dollars when you use code DQSW25 at checkout. And if you're in need of bottoms to go with your fab new cardi, all denim jeans and pants are buy one get one half off, too.

October 13, 2006 : Rusty Zipper
|
Today you can find us at the Manhattan Vintage Clothing Show scooping up one-of-a-kind finds. But we started BussBuss so that those who didn't have access to great events like this could still shop their chic socks off – no matter where you lived and what your budget was, hence our obsession with online shopping (who doesn't love instant gratification after all?).
If you're into vintage as much as we are, here's one of our favorite spots to head to in cyberland: Rusty Zipper. We've scooped up lots of fave dresses here in the past (for less than $30 no less) and if you're the kind of girl who would hate to be seen wearing the same thing as someone else, then vintage is for you. Our faves are the dresses from the '60s and '70s (mod, hippie, disco!), but go on and hunt and discover your own favorites right here at Rusty Zipper. And with Halloween right around the corner, this is a great spot to find costume inspiration and essentials.

October 11, 2006 : Wild Garden
|
A girl simply can't have too many tees, especially when they're as pretty as the ones at Wild Garden. We love the organic look and simple sophistication and are all aflutter over the new pale blue boatneck top with butterflies floating about. Wrap a cozy heather grey sweater on top and you're set for a beautiful day.
Scope out all of the pretty tees, and scarves and totes too, right here at Australia-based Wild Garden. All pieces are limited edition so you can almost be sure no one else will ever be stealing your style.

October 09, 2006 : Columbus Day Deals
|
It's Columbus Day, and while we may not be out discovering new lands, we are discovering great deals. We hadn't popped in at Bluefly in awhile, but we're glad we finally did. They have a great selection of winter coats (the belted black Kenneth Cole is classic and sexy), and we love the high gloss of Kate Spade's chocolate patent leather bag.
Scope out all the goodies, and take an extra 15% off coats, jackets, denim and dresses, right here at Bluefly.

October 03, 2006 : Crown Jewel
|
It's no secret how much we heart the hoodies around here, but this is one we're royally loving. In goes-with-everything black and bedecked with gold crowns, the vibe is perfectly goth/chic, which is oh so haute for fall (don those layered black jewels my lovelies). We also think this would look really cool worn over a fabulously dressy dress -- unexpected urban glam.
Fancy it too? Score yours right here at Alloy.

September 29, 2006 : Seeing Spots
|
If you love the whole leopard print trend, but don't want to look like everyone else and like a touch of irony in your wardrobe, check out this mod tunic alternative by Free People. The sexy/cool vibe is haute and we like that you can rawk it solo as a dress or over skinny pants or leggings for those of us a smidge more modest (re: not as confident as we used to be about our gams). Check it out at right here at sweet boutique Luv Charlie.

|
September 28, 2006 : Hoody Hoody
|
You know how much we heart our hoodies around here. They're not just practical (why is it always SO cold in restaurants and movies?!), but they're also cuddly and adorable. We think this sweetheart zip hoody with its heart and floral print is perfect for fall- and the detailing high on the waist keeps it perfectly on trend this autumn (it's all about the empire waists, hauties). Scoop one up in navy or grey right here at Forever 21.

September 22, 2006 : Hang In There
|
Sometimes, life is plain ol' overwhelming. For those days that you need a little pick-me-up, may we present the 'Hang In There' tee? Besides being sweet and adorable, like the designer herself, we dig the tee's simplicity.
We also think the 'We Broke Up' tee is awesome, but it's the story behind the tee that we heart even more. Read it for yourself on the Edge of Urge site (let's just say it has something to do with an ex-boyfriend and a small town). Pick up your pick-me-up tee at the uniquely fabulous shop Edge of Urge right here.

September 08, 2006 : Body Linens
|
We get a lot of swag and samples to test out here at BussBuss, but we haven't been this excited about a product in ages. Body Linens by Thread Count is such a simple idea, but such a fantastic one and started with the question, "Why buy 500 thread count sheets when you don't have 500 thread count pajamas?"
Founder and designer Jeena Hunget spent lots of quality time perfecting the answer and the result is THE most comfy and adorable pajamas we've ever had the pleasure of rolling around in. And let's just say we're a little hard to please when it comes to thread count. At once soft and crisp, The Nightie is our fave piece and can easily be worn as a dress for day. Featuring adjustable straps, sweet pink ruffles and no tags, chances are you'll want to wear it all day too, so you're in luck.
Check out the entire line of luxe jammies in 300, 500 and 800 thread count Egyptian cotton sateen, which makes the perfect gift for girls and guys, right here at Body Linens.

August 30, 2006 : Sophia Style
|
Like Marc Jacobs, we also think Sofia Coppola has really cool style. Normally seen in simple-with-an-edge dresses and flats, she pulls off effortlessly hip, well, effortlessly. When we saw this Sophia navy dress by Shumaq we instantly fell in love and envisioned Sofia herself in it (perhaps the inspiration for it?). It would look equally fab with flats as it would with chunky patent leather heels or platforms and is the ideal summer-into-fall dress (not to mention perfect for Fashion Week). We also think it's very office-to-cocktails appropriate.
Love it too and want to see other cool-chic Shumaq creations? Scope them all right here at Purple Peach. Plus, BussBuss readers take an exclusive 15% off everything with code HauteShop.

August 18, 2006 : Three Way
|
There's nothing we love more in our la vida loca than versatility. After all, we surely do get around (um, we mean we jaunt to Paris, not get around like Paris) and flexibility is the key to life, no? A must-have for our jetset wardrobe? This fab Kamali Piece at Artful Wears. Wear it as a dress (with sexy heels and glittering jewelry at night), as a skirt (paired with a tank and flats for day), or as a poncho for those chilly nights (we envision it over a cami and jeans or even as a cover up at the pool – just remember to rawk your Jackie-O shades).
It comes in chocolate and black and will save you loads of space in your suitcase -- which means extra room for shoes -- hooray. It's a bargain too, especially when you consider it's at least three pieces in one. Scoop it up for 30% off right here at Artful Wears.
Hint: It's also one size fits most, which means it makes a great gift for your fashionista pals.

August 15, 2006 : Parlez-Vous Paul & Joe?
|
The whole kimono-style tops and dresses trend is one that we love. Why? Because it's flattering on all body types (that we can envision anyway), looks elegant and cool and is even timeless. Yes, timeless. There's no reason you can't rawk this look year after year, not to mention from summer into fall (when it gets cold, just pair this baby with a turtleneck, a long chunky cardi and some tights). And while we've seen versions of this dress for $200 and way beyond, we prefer ours for less than $30, thanks. Thankfully we can get it from French fashion label Paul & Joe – for a limited time – right here at Tarjay. Plus, spend $50 or more on women's fall fashions and score free shipping!

August 14, 2006 : Big Bloomie's Sale

Apologies for the unfashionably late heads up, but Bloomie's is having a great sale and it ends today, so get to clickin' if there's anything you've been saving to your wishlist! Take an extra 50% off already reduced prices with code SAVE50 at checkout. It does exclude home, intimate apparel, gifts and mens but not clothing, handbags and shoes for the ladies and we know that's what you're aching for anyways – um, at least we are. Faves include bags by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Cynthia Rowley and Betsey Johnson and too many shoes to list. Head on over to Bloomie's here to get your goodies stat!

August 10, 2006 : Skirt the Issue
|
If you've been with BussBuss for a few years, you've probably picked up on how much we love Made With Love by Hannah's skirts. We happily own and love wearing the red apple pickin' wrap skirt and have effused about the sensational sunflower skirt. Now we have even more to get giddy about. Our favorite new designs include the darling distlefink skirt, the bukarest skirt and the tree top skirt. Why do we heart them so?
Besides being just plain adorable and super easy to wear, we can't get over the fact that each one is hand screened (that's right, she makes her own fabric) and costs less than we'd pay at ho-hum Banana and way less than, say, Anthropologie. And the limited-edition nature of handmade also translates into the fact that no one else will be rawking your skirt. Even better. Scope out your faves – and be sure to browse the super cute tops and 'more fun stuff' section too (think cute aprons, tea towels, belts and brooches) – here at Made With Love by Hannah.

|
August 08, 2006 : How To Look Like a Million Bucks When You Only Have $30
|
The key to buying bargain items that look spendy is to keep it simple, Sally. Go for print-less jersey and knit basics in neutral tones that peeps can't quite place. For instance, we often rawk a super simple jersey brown top and have been asked if it's Prada on more than one occasion. Nope, it was $9.99 at Marshalls. With another very simple dress worn yesterday at the always-catty ENK accessories tradeshow, we were continuously complimented on a dress we found a few years back at H&M for less than $20.
The point? Keep your bargain finds simple and no one will be the wiser. A few we're digging? These grey wonders that have a very Stella McCartney vibe but with a very appropriate Alloy price tag. And this sweet white top with black bow is a steal too and just perfect with all those a-line and circle skirts crowding our closets. Browse them all here. Plus get free shipping on orders of $75+ with code ACKAFF at checkout.

|
August 07, 2006 : Seeing Red
|
Red is supposed to be huge for fall, and we've been obsessed with red and blue together for some time now (it's just so very French). And this very mod Marc Jacobs-esque babydoll jacket is too cute to resist, especially since it has a decidedly non-Marc Jacobs price tag. We heart the big blue buttons, the patch sleeves and the adorable hood. Pick up your own Kimchi & Blue Dot Jacquard Babydoll Jacket (think of it as an upgraded hoodie) right here at Urban Outfitters.

|
|
August 04, 2006 : Unsung Designers
|
They may be unsung, but we want to shout about these designers from the rooftops. Unsung Desingers features more than 60 young designers — it's like a New York designers' market at the click of your mouse. Find cutting-edge trends from clothes to handbags to jewelry and even shoes!
We especially heart this marigold embroidered skirt from Mignonette, which is French slang for 'cute girl.' And cute you'll be in this girly skirt with a brown velvet ribbon by Brooklyn designer Kpoene' Kofi-Bruce.
Love Unsung as much as we do? BussBuss talked indie fashion and Project Runway with hauties Alishia Frey and Grace Wang, co-founders of Unsung Designers. Peep the interview here!

August 01, 2006 : Fall for Tweed
|
Even though it feels like 107 degrees outside, we're in the arctic blast of our air-conditioner, leaving us thinking about cute fall fashion. We can't help it – it's what we live for, okay?! And this darling tweed dress, with its cute drop waist, is on our must-have list. Cute with bare legs or later on with chunky tights, mary janes or ankle boots and a turtleneck, you can score this versatile brown baby right here at Delias.

July 28, 2006 : That's Smoking Lily
|
When we happened upon Smoking Lily, we not only fell in love with their style, but with their personality too. But really, aren't those one in the same? We think so. The wit behind Smoking Lily's designs is what makes each piece so special. And right now, we're especially loving the linen origami skirt, which is the result of the designers not being able to make a paper crane. We dig that. And we also really dig the double leather strap detail, which can be worn at the front, side or back.
We also think the chandelier-adorned v-neck tee is gothic glam and something we must possess – now, along with the insect-bedecked luggage tags and ascots and seahorse and birdcage tea towels. Yeah, we're in lurve. And we of course love that these independent designers do all cutting, sewing and silk-screening in house – making it more unbelievable how incredibly spot-on the prices are. Check out all of the quirky cool finds, including garden dresses, sailor tops, wallets and accessories, here at Smoking Lily.

July 26, 2006 : White Haute Sales
|
We're still fa-la-la-la-la-ing around here about all of the Christmas in July summer sales. And we're loving the deals we can score on white haute dresses. Sure, you may think you can't wear them after Labor Day (a total fashion rule we don't believe in by the way), but we're already dreaming of our winter getaway to some tropical haven where breezy white dresses will be a must. JET's gauze dress is a bargain here at Pink Mascara for $42 (originally $92), and we love the artsy look of this Rebecca Taylor white linen sundress here at Satine – a fab steal at $93 (originally $309).
Check out ALL of the steals to be had, including Bulga bags at half price and gifts that will make everyone you know adore you that much more, in our first annual Christmas in July Summer Sales Guide here.

July 25, 2006 : Haute Sales at Haute Shops
|
There's nothing like a fab sale – we know when we're shopping online, the sale page is the first spot you can find us at (and we know you heart sales too!). So in addition to offering a roundup of some of the best online shops in our emerging designer and independent shop collective, Haute Shops, we've launched an Haute Sales section there too. Here, you can browse by specific products that are on sale and/or find exclusive coupon codes to use on those products, or sometimes on your entire order at the haute sites.
The sales listings and coupon codes will change out often so keep checking in to see what's new and what's haute. And we'll be linking to the Haute Sale of the Week from our new-and-improved DailyBuss newsletter too (an occasional makeover never hurt a girl, right?). A sampling includes this gorgeous Anne Maa onyx necklace for 25% off, this Grumpy Girl 'Organized Mess' tank for 50% off and this reed gold clutch at Calliope for $51 off. Scope out Haute Sales here!

July 20, 2006 : Seeing Things in Black and White
|
Our obsession with black and white continues. This time the objects of our affection are the cool creations by Brooklyn-based independent designer Elaine Perlov. We really dig Elaine's design concept of modular dressing and her mission to create clothing that is economical and useful (get more scoop on this in a great interview with the designer at decor8).
After all, why should building a fabulous wardrobe be a chore? Elaine Perlov makes it a cinch with her easy-to-wear separates, allowing us urban fashionistas the time to actually have fun with fashion. We're yearning to rawk the black and white skirts and tops, but with a pop of color of course -- either with these yellow crochet pumps or these fun Kate Spade sandals. Or with one of Elaine's own hot pink satin belts. Scope out the lovely line right here at Elaine Perlov. Want to get inside the head of the designer? Check out her fun-to-read blog!

July 18, 2006 : Chic Chiffon
|
We're loving anything with a mod '60s vibe right now so when we spotted this chiffon tunic we were in heaven. We can see it paired with leggings or bumble bee yellow capris, with a high ponytail or beehive. That's right, we said beehive. But in more of a Kate Spade way than what your mom rawked when you were a mere glimmer in the womb. Or go glam with Brigitte Bardot voluminous locks and a wide headband. It's a steal too for just $19.80 right here at Forever 21.

|
July 12, 2006 : The LBD
|
As much as we are color whores, we still believe in the power of the LBD. From work to cocktails, the little black dress easily jetsets between day and night – and can conveniently be dressed up or down. And this '60s-inspired mod dress is as perfect now for summer (bare legs are the only accessory you'll need) as it will be for fall (rawked with tights or leggings and a turtleneck underneath). Pick it up right here at Delias. While you're there, check out all the new fare (everything's got a really cool international-meets-Anthropologie vibe – but for much less).
Haute TV: Don't forget - season three of Project Runway premieres tonight! Watch and then tell us what you think - who you love, hate and pick to win on the Haute Talk forums!

June 27, 2006 : Identity Crisis
|
A few weeks ago when we wrote about The Renegade Craft Fair, we featured a gorgeous floral wrap top. And we got loads of emails asking who made the top. Since we love the whole line, and dig the name too, we decided to feature the whole shebang. Identity Crisis Clothing is run by Austinite designer Karly Hand who makes each and every piece on the site by hand as it is ordered, so it's to your exact measurements. When you consider you're getting couture and the prices are less than you'd pay at Banana, it's an amazing deal. Plus, shipping is free. We love all of the tops and think the skirts are pretty cool too (some are length adjustable and appliqué interchangeable for goodness sake!). Even the hipster fanny packs are covetable. Check out all of the fabulously cool offerings at Identity Crisis Clothing.

June 22, 2006 : Vintage Amore
|
Our obsession with vintage only gets stronger with each passing click and this time our clicking has lead us to love – Vintage Amore to be exact. You may have noticed a trend here at BussBuss: We love looking haute, hip and one-of-a-kind, but we don't want to pay gobs of green to do so. Plus, mass-produced normally equals snoozefest for us, hence the love of vintage and independent designers. So what's so fab about Vintage Amore? The cool finds and the even better prices. We've never seen any item cost more than $20 and just last week scored an adorable '60s dress for $13, rocking silk scarves (to use as belts and handbag accessories) for $5 and awesome long necklaces, brooches and belts for less than the cost of a ticket to The Devil Wears Prada. And now we're craving this red, white and blue dress to knock everyone's socks off for July 4th weekend – a steal at just $18. Check it out, along with the whole slew of goodies, right here at Vintage Amore.

June 06, 2006 : Couture Bubble
|
We've been big fans of Austin-based line Amet and Sasha since we lived in the cool college town, back when BussBuss was just a twinkle in our womb. And we're loving their latest goodies, particularly this sweet bubble dress in comfy jersey. You can pick your favorite dress color (black, brown, baby blue, grass green, red, grape, olive stripe or grey) and then choose the color you'd like for the top (celery, buttercream, etc.) and before you know it, you'll have a couture creation that cost less than dinner last weekend. Each piece is literally made to order to your exact measurements – how glam! Also pick up the clever wrist wallet while you're there and you'll never be without your BFF – that trusty plastic card you're about to pull out to order your Amet and Sasha couture finds.

June 05, 2006 : We Adore Vintage
|
Okay, it's time to fess up. We have a bit of a vintage addiction and we may or may not have been not sharing our favorite online vintage shops with you because we wanted to keep all the goodies to ourselves. We're sorry! Can you ever forgive us? Consider this our first step on the path to redemption. One of our ab fab fave sites, Adore Vintage, just posted a huge update with loads of new items, from dresses to belts to bags, shoes and more. And their famous LookBook section and fashion editorials are majorly addictive – and now you can shop straight from them (owner and stylist Rodellee Marie should definitely be tapped by Teen Vogue for some styling work). June 02, 2006 : The Empire Stripes Back
|
We're not ones for following trends as we're not so gung-ho about looking like everyone else. But when two of the hautest trends just happen to be two things we already love, then stamp 'trendy' on our foreheads and sign us right up. The trends in question? Stripes and empire waists, which make this perfect summer top irresistibly adorable. Lurve it too? Scoop it up right here and rawk it like it's haute.

June 01, 2006 : Get Built
|
Today we're digging just about everything (literally) at hipster haven Built by Wendy – another NYC neighbor of ours. Hiya neighbor! From the '60s chic eagle-print tent dress that looks like something Cynthia Rowley would rawk to the very practical but cute canvas bag that we can envision swinging around town all summer, we're aching to let Wendy build us. Check out the entire line, including darling madras shorts and hippie-rocker-chick dresses and tops, right here.

May 19, 2006 : Color Me Happy
|
Browsing the GAP's website, we saw the cutest weekend outfit under Look of the Moment, and may we just say how rare it is that we actually covet all pieces from a look. But this easy breezy style is just that – so easy that we feel the need to scoop it up. Plus, the skirt is reversible, so that's a deal if we ever saw one. And we're addicted to yellow so the raffia tote in lemon peel is too deelish for our fashion-obsessed paws to resist. Scoop up the look, or just some of its elements, here and you'll be effortlessly chic -- and colorful, too, in a click.

May 18, 2006 : The Lowdown on Leggings
|
After seeing just about 10 out of 10 girls in NYC rawking them, we thought we should share our opinion on the whole leggings trend. First of all, those of you sweet young things born in the '80s, or dear gawd, even later, might not even be aware that leggings, along with neon and big hair, pretty much defined '80s fashion. Being children of the '80s ourselves, we have a soft spot for leggings, but have very strong opinions on how to wear them without looking like a big faux pas or someone trying to do a Madonna or Cyndi Lauper impression. Really, we have just one rule: Do not wear them with denim skirts. The strong hemline of the skirt combined with the line of the leggings forms a very unflattering shape, cutting your legs off at the wrong point and making legs look shorter than they really are. Yet, with flowy dresses and big billowy tops, leggings look very Parisian-chic, and we completely dig the functionality factor. Being huge fans of dresses in the summer, we were in desperate need of a solution for NYC wind gusts – we can only flash passersby so many times, after all. With leggings, all problems are solved. Where to pick some up online? Get them in every color of the rainbow here.

May 16, 2006 : Secret Sale
|
Good ol' bra and panty purveyor Victoria's Secret is having a big sale on their clothing, plus they're offering 25% off any single clothing item through this Thursday, May 18 – just use code '4DAY' at checkout. We used to score the best deals there on dresses back in the day, and while the prices seem to have gone up some, there are still cool pieces to be had for not too much. For instance, this Missoni-esque babydoll dress has been tempting us for a while now and is marked down to $65 (originally $78). With the coupon code, it can be ours for $48.75. We can easily see it in a resort town and in the city with the requisite wedges or espadrilles. Browse the VS site to pick your fave pieces here.

May 13, 2006 : Hey Ladybug
|
We've been particularly gushy this week with our obsessions. First it was apples, then it was elephants, and now, dear fashionistas, it's ladybugs. They're just too presh! Especially all over this babydoll top -- and the piping and flutter sleeves are just the icing on the cake. Love it too? Pick it up here!

|
May 10, 2006 : An Apple A Day
|
We have more than a slight addiction to anything apple – when it comes to fashion anyway, as we don't actually eat the fruit unless it's slathered in chocolate and then covered in salty nuts or is followed by the word 'tini.' And this soft cotton top from Forever 21 is no exception. Pair it with skinny jeans or even leggings if you dare, don your best ballet flats and an oversized bag and you'll be set to tempt Adam with your succulent fashion sense. Score it here for just $14.80.

May 04, 2006 : French Trench
|
We were super jealous yesterday when a friend scored the cutest trench from NYC vintage shop Screaming Mimi's. Seeing as it was one of a kind, we were hankering to get our hands on one just as adorable and were surprised as much as the next girl to find it at Target's Go International. It's by Frenchie designer Tara Jarmon, who's known for her ultra-femme, fresh and sophisticated designs and now we can score them at tres affordable prices. Pick up this trench for $39.99 for a limited time here.

April 21, 2006 : Objects of YOUR Affection

We love wrapping up the week by showcasing the Objects of YOUR Affection. Check out what fellow hauties were scooping up this week, including scrumptious candles, blingy accessories and funny baby gifts – looks like many of you have already started your Mother's Day shopping. Our fave? This cleverlikethefox skirt with a cute lil iPod pocket on etsy.com. See all of the OOYA here!

April 07, 2006 : In the Trench
|
You could say it's rainy season, but in New York a few days ago, it was rain, snow and bright sunshine all in one four-hour period. Thanks for keeping us on our fashionable toes, Mama Nature! No really, we like SO appreciate it. We'd already decided on our wellies for the season (remember the cute cowboy ones here?), but we hadn't snagged a cute trench yet. Until today that is, when we spotted this adorable one that looks very Orla Kiely, but only costs $48 at Nordy's. Nordy's also has shopping bags full of cute things we want to bring home, all for less than $80 each. Perhaps we'll add it to the Delia's Wishlist for next week. Til then, scope out your faves and tell us what they are! We love hearing from our stylicious readers and are starting a new feature where we'll include YOUR top picks on the site. So go on and play stylist: Email us your fave finds from the week/day/hour (we know some of you are tres bored at work) to editor@bussbuss.com -- please put OBJECTS OF MY AFFECTION in the subject line!

April 05, 2006 : In Da Hood
|
While Lekkner is away remodeling, we're left to fend for ourselves on the hip hoodie front. Which thankfully is okay for the time being because Delia's has the cutest new short-sleeved hoodies for spring. In fact, Delia's has soo many cute things right now that we're dedicating a whole Delia's Wishlist feature to it shortly. But for today, the hoodies. Choose from ruffled sleeves, paint-splattered, heart or ladybug-bedecked. We're gonna stock up on all of them because we're feeling ultra-gluttonous – you DO know that April is our birthday month, right? Send prezzies STAT, please! Oh right, back to the hoodies. Score your faves here and get free shipping on orders of $75 or more when you use code DQEAFF thru 7/31/06.

April 03, 2006 : Work Sucks
|
Today, they're filming Law & Order right outside of BussBuss HQ. How very New York. But we realize not everyday at work is a film set, and not for everybody. Especially for our corporate-going brethren. Thank goodness BussBuss exists and gives you worthwhile work distractions, like where to score this 'Work Sucks. Spread the Word. Yo.' tank. The answer? Here. The T-Shirt Project will even entertain custom inquiries, so if you want that baby in red or pink or some other hue, ask away. Whatever color you choose, we highly recommend wearing yours under your suit at work, so you can flash it at the water cooler when things get rough. You may risk that cushy j-o-b of yours, but then you could finally start your real job of blogging like the rest of us. Still bored? Go Fug Yourself (after supporting our Haute Sponsors please, their generosity is what keeps BussBuss free, and we all lurve that).

March 08, 2006 : Three Way
|
We're huge fans of pieces that are versatile and apparently Mischa Barton is, too. This cool Taka babydoll top, which she was recently seen sporting on her vacay to Hawaii, can be rocked as a top, as a skirt, or as a mini-dress. We think it's perfect over a swimsuit and dig the colorful print. And since it's one-size, it also makes a killer no-brainer gift for that fashionista friend of yours. Adopt a Taka babydoll top of your own for $79 at Shop Robertson.

February 07, 2006 : Don't Be Hatin'
|
We realize that Valentine's Day isn't for everyone and that it can be cheesier than a pot of fondue. But, we happen to love red, pink, white, hearts, chocolates and cheesiness. For those who don't, this cheeky tee is right up your alley. Let the world know you hate hearts by wearing it on your chest. Or, be like the Fred Flare guys who loved hearts so much that they started joking that they hated them, and ended up creating this funny tee. Whatever your feelings, we're quite sure you'll dig the I Hate Hearts tee, available for $22 at Fred Flare's site right here.
Still looking for great Valentine's day gifts? Check these out! Or, get some tips for out-of-the-box ideas here!

We're le obsessed these days with Le Train Bleu. The buyer there has some of the freshest, most original taste we've seen in a looong time, expertly choosing pieces that are at once romantic, graceful and edgy. No victim to trend, yet totally ahead of the curve, right now we're craving the yummy Nicole Romano fruit necklace that is so very SATC (originally $169, now $89), the darling ribbon wedges and bow-adorned pumps ($78 each) and, perhaps most of all, the sweet and Audrey-esque cashmere dress by Uluru (originally $315, now $189). Fans of cupcakes will go gaga for Johnny Cupcakes, a line of tees and accessories featuring kitschy cupcakes doing out-of-the-ordinary things. Make Cupcakes, Not War is a hoot, and the cupcake-munching panda is too adorable to pass up, but it's the cupcake and crossbones that we really get our kicks from, as it's such a funny take on the whole skull and crossbones trend that every hipster form Williamsburg to Silver Lake seems to be sporting these days. One up them all with a tee from Johnny Cupcakes. For men and women (think Valentine's Day surprise, people!), for $31.99 each.

September 02, 2005 : Give and Take
|
Hurricane Katrina has done more damage than most of us can even imagine, or ever will be able to imagine. And the only way we can help (or so we're being told) is to donate money to the Red Cross. The indie designer community has rallied together in an effort to raise money by having indie designers generously donate items for sale on Etsy.com. All proceeds will be donated to the Red Cross Hurricane Relief Fund, which is providing hot meals to victims and rescue workers, as well as providing other much needed assistance such as shelter, medical needs and even therapy for victims. By buying super cool indie wares, like this Made With Love by Hannah skirt, you'll be helping those who need your help the most. Visit Etsy to shop for a good cause and head to Craft Revolution to read more about this tremendous effort.

June 21, 2005 : I Saw London
|
BussBuss just got back from a quick jaunt to sunny London (no, that's not a joke -- it truly was blissful sunshine the entire time) and discovered that the whole deconstructed goddess look is very much in. Kind of ethereal, kind of hippie chic, and simply undeniably cool, Brits are surprisingly sporting strappy suede moccasin boots with their flowy dresses in place of sandals, despite the scorching temps. To boot or to sandal is up to you, but to get into the dress-y spirit, try this lovely frock from Forever 21. It's a steal for only $34.80 and comes in hunter green or black and features knotted straps on each shoulder and a flattering ruched bust. Toss on a cheapie white tank underneath, or dress it up with a sparkly sequin scarf. You'll be Brit-fabulous on this side of the Atlantic faster than you can scream 'cheerio!'

April 25, 2005 : Angri-La Tunics
|
BussBuss lurves the Oprah. We're not ashamed to admit it. What we are ashamed of is Oprah's little Tory Burch fashion show episode a few weeks ago. Famous for her tunics, Tory Burch, a New York multimillionairess, got every struggling designer's dream come true, a spotlight on the Big O. Fine, great, dandy. Lots of struggle there we're so sure. What irks BussBuss is how Oprah and Tory repeatedly called Tory's tunics affordable. At $300-$800 for a tunic, that is not affordable for 98% of the population. That's just a fact. And for two multimillionaires to say that to millions of viewers was a little disgusting. So, BussBuss channeled her anger and found an adorable tunic that is affordable for many, this sequined one in fresh summer white. Just $19.50, you can pick it up at oldnavy.com.
Is BussBuss overreacting? Tell us what you think on the ShopTalk message boards!

March 01, 2005 : Living on the Edge of Urge
|
Ever since we spotted Edge of Urge at the last Shecky's shopping partay, BussBuss has been itching to feature this designer (hey, we never claimed to be speedy!). January 18, 2005 : Afternoons in Utopia
|
Hi everyone, this is Nicole from Margaret Nicole! The lovely Kelly Lee has asked me to be a guest DailyBusser while she is away in Houston performing bridesmaid duties (i.e., partying!). I will spend the week showing you other indie designers that I LURVE (other than BussBuss that is). I must say that I am the proud owner of the Hey Cupcake BussARoos -- they are my favorite loungewear! There's my plug for zee BussBuss boutique -- go shopping girls! Also, please do swing by my site too and see what I am working on: margaretnicole.com. Now, on with the show…
I know that my customers love that they can customize their handbags, so I know that they will LURVE Funky Utopia's design-your-own-skirt concept as much as I do. All of these skirts will look adorable paired with your favorite flip flops. Such a clever idea, just go to the site, decide on your favorite style (bohemian wrap, new bohemian, or peyton drawstring), then choose a pattern and ribbon trim from more than 20 fabrics, and you're ready to go. Your skirt is made just for you, custom to your measurements, and costs just $40. Who knew a girl could get couture for less than the price of dinner and a movie? Another thing I love from Funky Utopia is the handpainted cupcake pony pin ($15), like the icing on my Cupcake BussARoos. Check it all out at funkyutopia.com.

May 28, 2004 : The Weekend Buss: Surf's Up

Even though it's a hideous 60 degrees in this part of the country -- and yes, I do realize it's almost June and that's it's sick, very, very sick, to be so chilly out -- I yearn to hit the beach. Instead I'll stay in and self-tan and buy cute beachwear online. Helping to accentuate my faux tan will be this incredibly cute Kelly green Hawaiian mini skirt. February 27, 2004 : The Weekend Buss: Hail to the Queen
|
In the spirit of leaping years, we figured we'd leap on over the Atlantic and see what those kooky Brits are up to fashion-wise. Copying American fashion it seems. Just kidding, friendly neighbors to the east! But seriously, asos.com, which stands for As Seen On Screen, is filled with tons of adorable tees, skirts, shoes and accessories for both men and women, all at really reasonable prices. We're infatuated, nay -- in love, with this darling pink tweed skirt ("in the style of Sarah Jessica Parker") and this irresistible scotty dog top (as seen on Cat Deeley -- am I the only one who sees the irony of Cat wearing a shirt with a pooch on it?). Score the top for about $28 USD and the skirt for about $37 USD at the very trendy site asos.com.

December 05, 2003 : The Weekend Buss: Patricia Field
|
I'm a big fan of funkifying and tarting up your wardrobe whenever possible. That becomes all too easy to do when you shop Patricia Field's site. The costume designer for Sex and the City offers lots of funky wares like neon orange and pink pumps, totally '80s plaid skirts and this great Social Climber tee (which reads, "Members Only" on the back). Prices range from a couple bucks to a couple hundred bucks. And for the SATC addict in your life, consider giving the Sex and the City: Kiss and Tell book. It's a behind-the-scenes guide to NYC and that famous foursome we've grown to love, including a detailed map of the bistros and boutiques where the fab four sip, shop and seduce. Take this velour vintage princess skirt for instance, it's just $18.99. Also a steal, the classic Tiffany check quilt jacket in a '60s mod print for $26.99. So there's no need to buy a ticket to Tokyo when you can just shop from your very stateside, but comfortable, couch.

November 06, 2003 : TGFM
October 20, 2003 : Keryn Sweater: $34

One of the best things about fall, other than the weather, is getting to wear sweaters, but that doesn't mean you have to pull out the bulky, frumpy, only-comfy ones. Instead, why not cozy up in something like this? The adorable boatneck and argyle design with sweet accent ribbon is a great way to show your playful personality while staying warm. Snag it for $34 at delias.com.

October 17, 2003 : The Weekend Buss: House of Nathaniel James
|
If you're in the market for fresh, original, real designer duds, but for less than "real designer" prices, perhaps you should check out the House of Nathaniel James. New to the New York fashion scene, now's the time to take advantage of the unusually low prices. Like this great jersey halter for $30. Perhaps even more interesting is the designer's bio, which includes sewing crotchless panties with his mother at the age of six, and living in a tent just outside of NY in the dead of winter to make his fashion dreams come true. That in itself merits you taking a peek, no?

October 14, 2003 : Fabulous Affordable Vintage
|
I don't know about you, but I'm addicted to vintage. Maybe not vintage in the pure sense of the word, like designer vintage, but cool, used stuff. It's fun finding totally unique pieces that you know everyone else won't be getting at the mall. But I'm not into paying hundreds of dollars for vintage, I'm into bargain vintage. To that end, and to make sure I don't go broke buying everything for myself, here are some sites where you can score great finds. Dig away and you just might find that awesome mod dress or totally '80s bag you've been searching for. And for chump change nonetheless. And remember: Halloween's right around the corner -- vintage shops are great places to put costumes together!

Which explains why I am so jazzed to come across these -- not only are they low-rise and boot-cut and oh-so-figure-flattering, but they're only $79, a mere fraction of what they normally cost. Get them in black, camel or double espresso at spiegel.com before they're all gone.
