The best way to elongate your legs, without some ridic new surgical technique?

By wearing nude or flesh-toned heels.

We love this patent Moda Spana 'Edda' pump for its understated simplicity and saucy peep toe, plus it's lightly padded so it's even pretty comfy too.

The best part? It's on sale from $80 to just $56 and overnight shipping is free -- yes, free (returns are free too, so no hard feelings if it doesn't work out).

Desert Chic: Half Off Kate Spade Shoes

BussBuss just got back from a long weekend in Sedona, Arizona.

Though it's the capital of all things New Agey (not exactly our bag, babycakes) and is the home to scary snakes and scorpions, we couldn't help but be seduced by the red, hot desert locale's stunning scenery and retro vibe.

We felt like we were in that fabulous Kate Spade ad campaign from a few years back.

Which has us feeling all things vintage, colorful, ethnic and unusual and likely explains why we love these python-swathed wedges. That, and they just happen to encapsulate all the hues of the Arizona landscape.

Luckily, they also happen to be 50% off, which makes them a splurge within the realm of possibility.

On the Fringe: Kate Moss-esque Boho Sandals Under $30

We can do without a resurgence of peasant skirts, thank you very much, but we do like a little Kate Moss-esque boho and bobo style every now and then.

The hippie element adds interest to an outfit and we're all about mixing high and low, vintage with new.

Which is why we're loving these suede fringe sandals at Urban.

Shop We Love: b*fly by Bluefly

Our friends over at Bluefly, purveyor of designer looks for less, just sent word that they launched b*fly, a new online boutique that links haute couture with casual wear.

In their own words: "b*fly breaks free of the shopping norms by enabling modern fashionistas to shop by trend and to mix and match b*fly's new contemporary casuals with their favorite couture pieces from Bluefly.com."

In other words, they realize people with great personal style don't dress head-to-toe in one designer and it's all about the mix (hello Kate Moss) and wanted to add much more hip, up-and-coming designers to their current roster of more established designers.

The best part? Like at Bluefly, the items on b*fly are up to 40% off.

Is there a chic way to say woohoo?

We're loving that bags by Rebecca Minkoff, Bulga, Goldenbleu, Alexis Hudson, Kooba and Kale are now much more affordable and that we can essentially find all the brands we love from sites like Shopbop and Pink Mascara always on sale (apparel by J Brand, Hudson, Twelfth Street By Cynthia Vincent, jewelry by Lee Angel, CC Skye, Rachel Leigh, shoes by Marc by Marc Jacobs, Michael Kors, Frye).

Pretty fly.

Loeffler Randall for Less

We've been loving Loeffler Randall for about as long as any self-respecting design addict (i.e. ever since designer Jessie Randall and her hubby's adorable Brooklyn flat were featured in Domino many, many months ago). And yes, we did buy the For Like Ever poster.

But as much as we crave Loeffler Randall -- the shoes! the bags! the coats! -- we can't always swallow the prices.

Which is why we're super excited about the new Loeffler Randall for Target collection.

While we were saddened there were no cute coats in the Target collection, the chic-meets-cheek bags and shoes are a good way to sample the up-and-coming brand without sacrificing next month's rent money.

Favorite Things: Dolce Vita Ludlow

We literally spend our days (and nights) scoping out pretty, clever things to share with our readers. And we're often asked which things are our favorites.

So it only made sense for us to share them in our new feature: Favorite Things.

First up, the only shoes we've ever had a love affair with, the Dolce Vita Ludlow. Le sigh.

To find a pair of shoes that go with nearly everything (dresses, pants, shorts) and that are so comfy from the get-go (there's literally no break-in period, we've walked miles all over Manhattan and San Francisco in these), is no east feat. Feet. You get le drift.

But we found it all in the Ludlow.

Like flats, but with a little lift, these Audrey-esque skimmers are for picky feet and for the girl on the go.

We have them in putty (they go with everything and the nude hue helps elongate your gams), but we'll be scooping them up in black, too. And perhaps crimson. And chocolate.

Buy them, and get free overnight shipping and free return shipping, at
Zappos.

Secret Scoop: The Dolce Vita Ludlow runs about a half size big and the leather stretches a little, so if you're normally an 8, go for the 7.5.

Paired with your latest wide-legged trousers, skinnies or skirts, we love the prep-school vibe, not to mention those dangling pompons.

Bonus: They also make great slippers (yes, it may be time to retire the bunnies).

Snag them in heather gray, dark chocolate, polar bear, crimson red or black here at

Chic Thrill ** Cheap Thrill

Our eyeballs usually glaze over fashion ads in glossies, but the Miu Miu Vernice Pop Pump kept popping up on pretty pages everywhere and we couldn't deny its oh-la-lust appeal.

Seriously glossy patent. Deelish candy colors. What's not to love? The $525 pah-rice tag, that's what. Which is why we appreciate a cheap-chic alternative.

Mad for Mohop

Louboutins? So last season. Also so mass fashionista. Searching for something truly one of a kind, under the radar, comfy and much more affordable, especially when you realize how many pairs of shoes you get in just one?

Look no further than Mohop.

Custom-made by designer Annie Mohaupt in her Chicago studio, Mohop is that rare experience where fabulous customer service, fabulous packaging and fabulous product create an online shopping trifecta.

Composed of rubber soling made from recycled tires (very eco-chic), a Finnish birch plywood core, and topped with various select veneers, what really makes Mohop shoes unique is the patent-pending strapping system, where you can customize your shoes by changing the ribbons that tie the shoes on (it's super easy and fun!).

How does it work? Once at Mohop, select your heel height. Then choose your fave base style. Next, find your exact size by printing out a paper cutout (so much more fun than checking Perez for the latest H'wood scoop -- trust us). Then, select the ribbons you want.

Different lengths and styles of ribbons can be used to achieve a virtually infinite number of looks with just one pair of wooden bottoms (we heart versatility). As Annie says: "Now anybody can play Imelda Marcos without requiring the budget and storage space for 5,000 shoes."

Before checking out, be sure to use coupon code BUSSMO25 for a lovely 25% off exclusively for BussBuss readers (expires September 30, 2007 so do not delay).

Prepare to fall in love at Mohop.

Fall Shoe La Love

Grommets and studs. Jewel tones. Grey is the new black. Patents and metallics continue to shine.

These are just a few of the trends that are hot for fall. And you can get in on the trends with just your shoes alone.

We're loving nearly everything Nine West is dishing out this season.

They may not be coveted Manolos or Louboutins, but we also won't be weeping when we get caught in the rain or scuff them on the city pavement.

Sizzle in some fatty t-straps this fall or prance about town like the gamine you are in embellished flats.

Get right with jewel tones (so romantic and chic) or toughen up with grommet-adorned flats.

And don’t forget to have a grey day (the new neutral for fall).

Spy your next pair here at Nine West.

Haute Shop of the Week: Zappos

We loved the original Zappos, the shoe site that also sold some handbags and became popular for their fab shipping and return policy: free shipping and free return shipping for 365 days.

But now we're over the moon. Why? Zappos now sells clothing too, including swimsuits. And yes, that same shipping and return policy applies. In fact, they now offer free overnight shipping on everything (seriously).

You know how we feel about instant gratification and it doesn't get more instant in the world of online shopping than free overnight shipping.

But we're most grateful that we never again have to face those horrid dressing room lights. There is a shopping god.

We're also loving Zappos Couture, which offers higher-end bags, shoes, accessories and clothing from Goldenbleu, Hollywould, Kate Spade, Cole Haan, Marc Jacobs, Sigerson Morrison, Costume National y muchas mas.

Indulge in free overnight shipping, and the fabulousness that is the future of online shopping, right here at Zappos.

Haute Shop of the Week: Net-a-Porter

We love entrepreneurs, especially ones who fill a niche and are passionate about what they're doing, whether it's the salacious Perez Hilton or the clever Sarah Blakely of Spanx fame.

Which is exactly what chic entrepreneuress Natalie Massenet did (see her write-up in this month's Vogue July issue). As the founder of Net-a-porter (a cheeky play on pret-a-porter), she serves up delicious doses of luxury designer goodies that you can't find anywhere else online.

Think clothing, bags, shoes and accessories by Chloe, Miu Miu, Marc Jacobs, Fendi, Oscar de la Renta, 3.1. Phillip Lim, Christian Louboutin, Alexander McQueen, Michael Kors and Stella McCartney, to namedrop a few.

We love scouring the sale section, where we're currently drooling over these glam Miu Miu ballerina flats and pintuck dress (both half off!).

If you're a luxe-loving designer darling, find your faves by shopping Net-a-porter.

P.S. Wonder what happened to Girlshop? They closed their doors last month, but never fear, Net-a-porter purchased Girlshops's customer list and is offering their higher-end wares to Girlshop refugees.

Shoe La Lust

On a recent jaunt to Mannyhatty, we frantically popped into Steve Madden in SoHo, desperately seeking shoes to perfect a new dress we just scored at Calvin Tran on Mulberry Street. Despite there being more people inside the store than on the streets of bustling Broadway, we managed to find the perfect pair of pumps without going postal (barely), though we did nickname the shop Steve Maddening.

But why face-off with the fashionista crowds when you can click, shop and ship instead? We let our fingers do the shopping once back at home, only to discover many more shoe lovelies we'd rather not live without. The best part? Shoes channeling Chloe, Christian Loubitan and Tory Burch, but made for a working girl's wallet. Plus, you can even create a custom pair of shoes online. Simply choose your style, heel, colors and size and you'll never fear rocking the same pair as anyone else ever again.

Find (or make) your perfect pair right here at Steve Madden, where you'll always conveniently be first in line.

Gladiator Glam

High heels only work in our new town of San Francisco when we're walking uphill (hello insta-flats!), which means that when we're girl-about-towning (and our personal driver is unavailable), true flats are key.

But now that it's spring, we wanna wiggle our toes some and have an alternative to our trusty ballet flats, which is why these Cocobelle city sandals are looking ultra appealing. The glam antique brass studs give them edge, plus they'll pair well with all the babydoll frocks and mod shifts we'll be rocking this season.

Slide into gladiator-glam style right here at Shopbop.

More Lepore

We're a bit shoe obsessed these days and though our champagne and lollypops lifestyle (re: sophisticated but playful, glamorous yet girly, luxe-loving yet aware that we weren't born with a trust fund) often prevents us from overindulging in designer goodies, this time we don't have to choose between shoes and, um, rent.

Nanette Lepore's new line for Keds gives us the playfulness and style of Nanette's higher-end designer line but with more of a Keds (plus a little extra) price tag.

We heart the script-print and leopard sandals the most, but the Mischa Barton-starring ads make us contemplate the skimmers as well for our upcoming poolside rendezvous (re: much-needed vacay). Pick your poison right here at Keds.

P.S. Nab free standard shipping with orders of $75+ with code FREESHIP07 at checkout.

We'll take any excuse to treat ourselves to a new pair of shoes, so when we recalled that Easter's just around the corner, we exhaled 'thank you, Jesus.'

Perfect to pair with a springy frock (um, time for a new Easter dress, too, we suppose), these bright tropical floral-print slingback espadrilles are pure happiness. Pick up a pair right here at Anthropologie.

Be warned: There are a kazillion shoe lovelies to choose from right now at Anthro, so proceed with caution -- or reckless abandon -- we won't judge.

Ooh La Luxe vs. Ooh La Less

While we thought it was quite preposterous that Oprah once said how affordable Tory Burch's $300+ tunics were (um, they are a steal for a billionairess we suppose), we have been contemplating a pair of Tory Burch 'Reva' ballerina flats ever since we first laid lustful eyes on them many months ago.

Now that we've seen a near identical version, the Libby Flat by Wanted, at Delia's though (for $160 less), we're reconsidering. Pick your favorite version at either Tory Burch or right here at Delia's.

Shoe Stor boxes were created by a husband for his wife (and his sanity) because she never could find her shoes. His solution? Clear, ventilated, stackable boxes that fold away when not in use. Meet Me at the Plaza

Even with Oprah's endorsement yesterday of Cole Haan heels with Nike Air technology, we know in our hearts (and toes) that flats will always be comfier. Which is really important to grasp in a city where you constantly walk everywhere. Plus, ballet flats are chic and timeless in an Audrey Hepburn kind of way, and she is our all-time style crush, after all.

Right now we're loving these spotted Jeffrey Campbell flats at the amazing shoe, handbag and accessories shop Plaza Too. We're also swooning over the cute leopard headband, Murval wallpaper tote and fabulous riding boots, not to mention the Viv & Ingrid and Alexis Bittar jewels.

Discover your own favorites to complete your fall look right here at Plaza Too. Plus, score free shipping on orders of $200+ to anywhere in the U.S.

Boot-y Call

We've just returned from a trip to the Austrian countryside and these boots couldn't be more appropriate. Luckily, they'll also come in handy here in New York this autumn. Because we all know before the beautiful first blanket of winter snow comes pesky fall rain -- and even some sleet. Hard to imagine on a gorgeous sunny day like today, but forward-thinking stylistas know to always be prepared. Plus, the preppy equestrian style is irresistible.

Sport these with tucked-in denim and a crisp white button-down and you'll be ready to ride. Even if what you're riding is just the 6 train. Pick up your pair of wellies right here at J.Crew.

Patent Pumps

By now, we're certain you've noticed all the rage over the patent pumps trend. It started with Christian Louboutin, then trickled down to those of us not quite up for spending $500+ on shoes that will undoubtedly hurt with knockoffs by Jessica Simpson and Steve Madden -- in the $80 range -- to name a few. But why spend $80 when you can throw down less than $30?

Mossimo pumps and slingbacks look nearly identical, minus that famous red sole of course, and won't break the bank. Score a pair or two right here at the always-reliable Target. Then take your extra $500 and buy yourself a brand new shiny plane ticket to Europe – where BussBuss will be later this week (check the blog for stylish adventures abroad!) – perhaps sightseeing in these very same shoes. Auf Wiedersehen!

The Weekend Buss: Dark Chocolate

Sometimes, when the world seems so ugly, it helps to surround yourself with pretty things. These deliciously dark chocolate heels are perfect for fall (yes, it really is right around the corner already!). In sexy suede and patent leather, with rich velvet and gold metallic accents, we're head over heels for these, um, well, heels. January 24, 2005 : Eskimo Chic

After the big ol' blizzard we had this weekend, I learned a very important lesson: cowboy boots are not adequate as snow boots. Who knew! Not this chick from Texas. Anywho, on my quest to find boots that would keep the footsies from freezing, I found these faux fur lace-ups. To me, they're like a pug puppy – so ugly they're cute. I also think they're very Eskimo chic and love that they're $69.99, a reasonable price tag for keeping toes frostbite-free. Pick up a pair in tan or bubblegum pink at shoes.com. The only question now: to tuck or not to tuck? Weigh in on the BussBuss Style Boards!

November 05, 2004 : The Weekend Buss: Bootin' Up

The long hunt for the perfect pair of everyday boots is over, at least here in BussBussland. These Rockports satisfy all of our needs: low heel for comfort but just the right amount of heel to boost our um, rear assets, thick enough sole for walking around all day without being clunky, the right height for jeans and skirts, not too skinny or wide at the top so our calves aren't swimming in them or being suffocated, plus that added Western edge for kicks. And, as always, we love that shipping is free and, if for some reason we have to return them, return shipping is on the house as well. Thanks, Zappos, thanks. Your boots await for $143 at zappos.com.

October 13, 2003 : The Holiday Weekend Buss: Royal Elastics

In honor of Columbus Day, I present to you these badass kicks by Royal Elastics. Perhaps you don't see the correlation, but here's what I was thinking: Columbus was British, right? Which is like royal. Then he discovered America, hence our celebration of Columbus Day. That might slightly make sense in someone's world, if only he really were British. But, alas, he was not. He was born in Genoa (that's Italy for all you geography geeks out there). And his famous voyage was funded by Spain. So back to the point. These shoes have nothing to do with Columbus, but aren't they just the coolest? Available in lots of funky color combos, like bumble gum and powder pink, they're a cool $60 at royalelastics.com. And if you've seen the latest copy of Lucky mag, you know you can enter the code "luckymag" at checkout and get 25% off any online purchase, making them an even cooler $45. Now ain't that a royal kick in the pants? Here's to new discoveries -- fashion and otherwise.
