Darlings, are you ready to get your Grammys on and rate the red carpet? Smashing.

Let’s start with Carrie Underwood’s twinkling, snowy Gomez-Gracia frock. While demure from the front, the back was a fun surprise! I loved her dazzling diamond earrings as well as her espresso clutch and feathery lashes.

There were a lot of neutrals on the red carpet (whites, blacks, metallics), so seeing Fergie’s blood-orange Jean Paul Gaultier couture gown felt very fresh. Not many can pull off a peek-a-boo dress, but Fergie managed to do it with flying colors (er, color) — and it still felt rather ladylike. Bravo.

I also swooned over Katy Perry’s powdery blue Elie Saab, which oozed 1950′s glamour. Of course, she kept it cool and true to herself with a matching blue ‘do. Russell who?

Gwyneth Paltrow looked polished and modern and in a floor-length Stella McCartney black dress and shiny gold belt.

She wasn’t alone, as Paris Hilton (why hello, Paris, fancy seeing you here) cinched her ladylike Basil Soda cap-sleeved frock with a gold belt, too. Do you like this trend? I do!

While most Grammy attendees flaunted long dresses, Corinne Bailey Rae’s swingy ruffle-hemmed Christian Siriano number charmed and delighted and felt both girly and glamourous.

Speaking of glamourous, Adele’s sparkling black custom-made Armani gown was perfection. The cinced waist was figure-flattering and her vintage-inspired hair, makeup and jewels are all I’ve been able to think about since seeing them. A glam slam, indeed!

Well, this is a first, but Taylor Swift’s golden Zuhair Murad gown dazzled  – and fit her to a tee – making her a Best Dressed nominee!

Gumdrops, I’m hoping you’ll help me pick something to wear tonight to host the Directives West First.LA runway show! I love when my friends text/email me photos asking what they should wear to interviews/parties/etc., so I was hoping to turn the tables and get your help. Will you help me out and play favorites?

Do you like look #1 by Whitney Port and Skies Are Blue? You probably already know Whitney Port’s Whitney Eve line, but this top is from her new Whitney Port line and I’m loving it. The skirt is by Skies Are Blue,  a brand new line that I’m so excited about, especially because the price point is in the H&M/Zara territory (hooray for my wallet!). So, ladylike and neon — you like?  Or, do you prefer look #2 — an adorable sailor dress by Skies Are Blue? The sailboat print, Peter Pan collar and salmon hue add up to cute overload. (It also feels very Alexa Chung to me, who I love.) Do you like it, too?

The dress in look #3 is by a label called Again (with the top by Whitney Port). Black and white stripes are definitely in my wheelhouse, but long and tight normally aren’t. Sometimes it’s good to try new things, but what do you think? Look #4 is also by Skies Are Blue. I love the giant bow, but my husband thinks it makes my tatas look droopy (ha, what tatas?!)! I love the sweet vintage vibe and it’s also super comfy, but it might just be a man repeller dress! Look #5 is by Dolan. I adore the black and white stripes, and love the floaty, comfy fit.

Full disclosure: The Emmys red carpet was a total snoozefest this year. So much so that I’m not even bummed that my TiVo messed up and that I missed the live red carpet show and had to settle for merely viewing photos online (and I live for this stuff!).

That said, my Style OCD made me round up my favorites anyway, even if it seemed like celebs phoned it in with the safest choices ever (maybe I was expecting too much as the Emmys were coming right off of the heels of New York Fashion Week and I was assuming I’d see some Spring 2012 dresses on starlets?). Either way, I’d love to know what you thought, and who your favorite dressed leading ladies of the small screen were. Were you feeling blue like Minka Kelly in Christian Dior and Claire Danes in Oscar de la Renta? I’m loving the long-sleeved dress trend (a trend that can definitely be credited to Kate Middleton) and think Minka looks so ladylike and polished. And Clare’s sequined frock fit her perfectly and was one of the coolest and most original gowns of the night.

Also feeling blue (but hopefully not too blue as her hubby doesn’t believe in Prozac!) were Katie Holmes in Calvin Klein and Glee’s Dianna Agron in Roksanda Ilincic. Sure, Dianna looks like a rumpled Ivanka Trump and these silhouettes are nothing new, but both ladies look fresh and happy in their bright blue dresses (and I love Katie’s skinny belt). Do you like these blue dresses too?

Still awake? Good, I’ve got some hotties with bodies rocking red for you. First up, a total Sloan lookalike, Nina Dobrev shows up in a Sofia Vergara-esque red Donna Karan and totally makes it work. Despite the quite unflattering expression on Kerry Wahington’s face (is it just me or does she always look like she’s engaging in smell-the-fart acting?), she looked like a million rubles during the Emmys telecast in her strapless Zuhair Murad. And despite loathing Lea Michele (who is she again and why is she everywhere?), I really loved her embellished-sleeve scarlet Marchesa. What do you think? Are you loving or loathing these ladies in red?

Moving on to classic black, Evan Rachel Wood looked the best we’ve ever seen her in her shimmery espresso Elie Saab. Eat your heart out, Marilyn Manson (oh wait, he probably would). I could have done without seeing Gwyneth Paltrow’s midriff, but at least she gave us something to look at in this Indian-inspired number by Emilio Pucci (let’s just hope this doesn’t start a midriff-baring trend again, because it was bad enough the first time around, thankyouverymuch Britney). I have no clue who the Amelie lookalike on the right is, but she Michelle Forbes looks super chic, does she not? What do you think? Is black beautiful on the red carpet or way too safe?

I’m blushing. This whole time I thought Jayma Mays was Abby Elliott from Saturday Night Live. Am I alone? Whoever she is, she looks like a pretty princess in her frothy blush-toned Zuhair Murad gown, one of my favorites of the night (even if it is reminiscent of the Marchesa gown Hailee Steinfeld donned at the Oscars). And Ryan Seacrest’s lovah, Julianne Hough, also charmed me in her blush-hued Carolina Herrera frock. You too?

Speaking of pink, did you see Zooey Deschanel’s bubblegum pink Monique Lhuillier? Tres vintage promsy womsy, but it’s so her I can’t help but be charmed. You too or are you so over her style? Has Zooey’s style jumped the shark?

Also indulging in the girly-femme, Heidi Klum looked darling in her Christian Siriano cocktail dress. Julia Stiles may have looked like a Mila Kunis knockoff in her lavender Georges Hobeikabut, but she wore it well. But, hands down, my favorite fashionista of the night was Mad Men cutiepie Kiernan Shipka. So sweet, chic and age-appropriate (she’s only 11 for Pete’s sake!), she’s bound to follow in Hailee Steinfeld’s footsteps.

First the Royal Wedding, then the surprise OBL news, and now The  Met Ball Gala (the real Super Bowl of fashion). Hooray! I’ve been busy playing favorites and choosing the Coolest Dressed List. Who made the cut? Those whose looks I actually want to emulate, those who made me look (and think) twice, and those who look like they’re wearing the dress, not the other way around. And of course, those who found a way to stand out from the fashion pack with a few quirky-cool touches, without looking like total fashion victims. Rising to the top? Sarah Jessica Parker in a modern-vintage long-sleeved gown by Alexander McQueen, the man being honored last night. Why? It’s hard to pull off a long-sleeved gown without looking like a late ’70s/early ’80s country star and SJP f does just that, looking modern, yet timeless at once. It’s unusual to see something short at the Met Ball, but Alexa Chung’s short shift by Christopher Kane feels downtown and effortless (plus, those scalloped edges and that scalloped bag!). Diane Kruger always looks like a billion bucks and hits a home run, yet again, in her slit-up-to-there Jason Wu .

It’s hard to pull off simple without looking boring, but Dianna Agron did it in a sleek red Michael Kors dress. Anna Wintour, who always looks a little dowdy and conservative (uh oh, did that just get me officially banned from the fashion queendom?), surprised in a modern rainbow Chanel gown. Color me delighted. Speaking of color, Michelle Monaghan popped in sleek pink, looking fresh and divine (ixnay the matching bag though, it’s a little too promsy womsy).

Chanel Iman looked Breakfast at Tiffany’s chic in a snowy lace Dolce & Gabbana shift that I would sell my left arm for. No, my right. Ginnifer Goodwin took a risk in her futuristic emerald Topshop Unique look and I liked it. The shoes and necklace were perfection, and I even dug her blue eyeshadow and edgy ‘do.  I rarely like a dress that is two different lengths (designers, just make up your mind!), but Hailee Steinfeld is so charming that she — and the Stella McCartney dress — won me over.

Finally, some ladies looked even better in groups, including this gang of Marni-clad misfits must-gets in an array of printed perfection (I’m especially fond of the Mrs. Robinson look on Giovanna Battaglia on the far right). Jenna Lyons always adds something cool to stand out from the pack and this time was no exception. Why not toss on a cashmere sweater over your feathery gown to tomboy-chic it up? And, let’s not forget model Arizona Muse, whose flapper-girl dress and hair style I’m crushing on hard. How about you? Whose look do you love the most?

Milan Fashion Week has come and gone and Paris Fashion Week is in full swing, but I can’t get over Erin Fetherston’s fall 2011 collection at New York Fashion Week. Every time I see a new collection by Fetherston, I fall deeper in love with her elegant simplicity, dreamy but sophisticated color palette and easy draping. I want to be this girl!

So I’m especially — and selfishly — excited to find out that Erin Fetherston pulled the plug recently on her higher-end label to start up a lower-priced line instead. This is the debut of that lower-priced line. And while the prices are still nothing to sneeze at ($195-$600), it’s much more in the realm of reality and not just fantasy.

The Oscars may have bombed, but the red carpet was full of showstopping fashion. We’ve narrowed down our Top 10 Best Dressed and now it’s your turn to vote. Who deserves the Oscar for Best Dressed? Is it Camila Alves, who knocked it out of the park in her perfectly fitted ebony ballgown, reminiscent of Gwyneth Paltrow’s pink Ralph Lauren Oscar gown circa 1999?

Or are you hot for these heart-racing crimson numbers? Sandra Bullock did the bustle in red Vera Wang. Jennifer Hudson flaunted her newly svelte bod in tangerine Versace and Oscar host Anne Hathaway first hit the red carpet in and with Valentino.

On the other end of the color spectrum, Gwyneth Paltrow was statuesque in her modern Calvin Klein Collection silver sheath. Oscar nominee Hailee Steinfeld was age-appropriately sweet-chic in a blush-toned, tea-length Marchesa masterpiece, while Mandy Moore charmed in Monique Lhuillier.

Lavenders and blues also graced the Oscar red carpet. Mila Kunis beat out friend and Black Swan co-star Natalie Portman in the purple department as she reigned in lacy lavender Elie Saab. Red carpet host Giuliana Rancic rocked a painterly Christian Siriano gown and Cate Blanchett, per usual, knocked it out of the fashion park in the palest purple Givenchy Couture. But who takes top prize?

Amy Adams sparkled in a sapphire L’Wren Scott dress that had us doing double takes as she looked like Nicole Kidman’s twin. The bold blue hue really made her baby blues and crimson mane pop and her genuine smile was her best accessory by far. Do you agree?

Marky Mark’s prettier half looked like a million bucks in a Naeem Khan red and nude gown. Are you feeling this red carpet look?

Ryan Reynolds who? Scarlett Johansson showed up in a berry lacy Dolce & Gabbana gown on the arm of her agent Joe Machota (does he put the hot in Machota?). Her undone hair keeps the look young and easy (refrain from jokes) and is a departure from her normal quaffed ‘dos and ringlets. What do you think?

Holy smokes, Matthew McConaughey’s babymama and handbag designer Camila Alves (who I spotted in person at QVC’s pre-Oscar party on Friday and who looks even more stunning in person) stole the red carpet in a dramatic yet simple black ballgown. Do you love this look too?

Like Gwyneth Paltrow, Hilary Swank also opted for a silver screen siren look in silver and grey Gucci Premiere. Does her ostrich feather-adorned look ruffle your feathers?
