And, just when I thought it couldn’t get any better, a Sh*t People in LA Say video (via Jesus Year Project — come back to India, friend!).

Truth be told, I’m not a huge video watcher (shocking news alert: I love the printed word!), but I can personally vouch that this is worth the 2 minutes and 53 seconds of your time. And it’s the perfect way to wrap up the Halloween holiday. I can’t say much more until after you watch, but would love to discuss in the comments after xx!

Happy Monday my lovelies! I thought we’d kick off the week with a fun video. I recently had the pleasure of working with Think Thru Fashion editor and The Style Network and MyStyle.com’s resident fashion expert Sydne Summer again on a Quick Switch video (as a model – yipes!). In the video, we demo how to wear printed shorts, a huge trend for summer and one that I’m in love with. I love the first daytime look, where Sydne pairs a striped top with the printed shorts. It feels very French-girl chic to me. You too? If you like the look you’re in luck because everything was a steal at Forever 21 (except for the hat which I picked up at one of those stands in the middle of The Grove mall for $20!).

It was an incredibly fun shoot at the E! studios in LA, where I got to work with Sydne, makeup artists Amber Ayala and Suzi Thompson and the great Style Network crew. I also got to meet a few of the E! News hosts, which was a blast. Colorblocking is one of the biggest trends for spring and here I pull out my Blue Steel (again) and  help model the trend in a MyStyle.com 3-Way video. Host Sydne Summer of Think Thru Fashion shows how to wear the popular colorblocking trend three different ways: for work, for weekend, and for night (I don the night look). I think it’s a great way to show how you can wear one piece several different ways (and the cute colorblock frock I’m wearing is only $25 at H&M!).  If you want to see a million more ways you can wear this colorblock frock, Sydne shows you how here. It’s been one of those days. Where you have a zillion things to do, not enough hours in the day, your dress makes you look at once anorexic and fat and then your computer crashes (thanks McAfee, you’re just as good as Norton!). So. This made me smile. I hope it does the same for you.

After professing my girl crush on Amanda Seyfried, the lovelies at Teen Vogue sent over lots of pics and info on this month’s cover girl (merci, darlings!). I love the 1950′s retro-glam beach shots and now want a ruffly polka-dot bathing suit, not to mention those incredible Miu Miu shoes. Are you listening, wishlist?

Further proof that one-pieces have just as much appeal as bikinis. And Kelly Ripa was right recently when she noted that Amanda Seyfried does look like a young Michelle Pfeiffer. Can you see it? Do you also adore her coral-red lipstick too? It’s Maybelline ColorSensational Lipcolor in Are You Red-dy. I think I am.

After Mamma Mia!, the small Greek island of Skopelos suddenly became a vacation destination (it was the first spot on our European adventure last summer/fall, though we had chosen it before ever seeing the movie — and to be honest, the locals didn’t exactly seem to love the newfound attention). I wonder if Verona, Italy is ready for the onslaught of new romantics who will be traveling there to write and deliver their Letters to Juliet… Which, by the way, was a really charming movie.

With Sex and the City 2 coming out next month, prepare to see Sarah Jessica Parker everywhere. We love her, so think that’s a good thing. First stop: VOGUE. She’s on the May cover and in this video she talks about being a new mother again, relaunching Halston, shooting SATC 2 in Morocco for seven weeks (hope Morocco’s prepared for an onslaught of tourists) and more. Prepare to swoon over the Galliano gown she wears as only SJP can. Fashion magic. Doesn’t the buidling look like some grand Italian manse? It’s the Beacon. In Jersey City. God Bless America.

On having children with a surrogate mother: “Meeting your children rather than giving birth to them, it’s as if, um, it’s—suspended animation. The gestational experience is gone. It’s as if everything else disappears for a moment, and the world goes silent and—I can’t explain it except to say that nothing else existed. I don’t remember anything but the blanket on the bed that they were lying on and my husband’s face and their faces and my son’s. It’s literally as if sound is sucked from the room. Time stands still. It’s so different, and equally extraordinary.”

On the importance of keeping perspective: “We painted our patio furniture ourselves…. I make my children’s food myself. We put together their high chairs ourselves; we do a lot ourselves! We do our own grocery shopping, we go to the market ourselves, you know? I do my laundry.”

The upcoming Sex and the City sequel: “We four women, despite I guess what a lot of people hope, have never been better. This movie—and maybe it’s because we actually lived together—it was the best! We were together all day long, at night, in the restaurants, in our hotels. It was wonderful.”

Sex and the City getting older: “We’re still playing—uh, I don’t know how old Carrie is! Is she about 42 now? I think Carrie’s younger than I [Parker is 45], and Miranda and Charlotte are younger than they are in real life. Samantha was always the older lady, so she’s 52 now and talks a lot about what comes with that. In the movie. Talks about menopause. Comedically.”

Her introduction to New York and Halston: “I came to New York originally in 1976, and then I got this part in Annie around the corner from Studio 54. I was a little girl, and for some reason they always invited the cast of Annie to Studio 54, so there I was at thirteen and fourteen, and the doorman would usher us in, literally underneath his arms. And it was 1977 in New York City, and you couldn’t be alive and not know the name Halston.”

Her new position with Halston: “There was every reason to say no, and there were very compelling reasons to say yes…. It’s an exciting time at that company. It has had some false starts that are well documented and it is relaunching itself. It has a wonderful legacy, and I couldn’t say no.”
