The Best of London Fashion Week, Dahlings

best london fashion week designers holly fulton

Last week we talked New York Fashion Week favorites. Yesterday we obsessed over our favorite British export since Kate Moss, The Cambridge Satchel Company. And today, today we hop across the pond again to highlight our London Fashion Week favorites! Let’s start with Holly Fulton who, once again, stands out with her original, graphic, bold prints and a fun color palette of jewel-toned yellow, black and white. Do you love Holly Fulton too?

london fashion week favorites

New York Fashion Week served up plenty of sherbert and neon hues and London was just as colorful, albeit in a less glowstick way. I loved these tomboy-chic looks (and hats!) from Paul Smith. (How cute is that first look with the yellow skirt?)

london fashion week Jaeger London

Speaking of hats and looks I can’t get enough of, I adore these sweet-chic Jaeger London looks, complete with bows and scallops. (That flat-top hat will be the hat to have come spring. I believe they’re called Cordobés Spanish-style hats…)

I also love the fun triangle cut-outs and easy elegance of it all. What do you think? Do you like these looks?

london fashion week erdem; house of holland

Erdem is always playful and cool, so very ladylike meets downtown, and so Alexa Chung. Their floral prints had me at hello, lady. House of Holland is always full of surprises, but what surprised me most is how much I want these pants. I smell a DIY…

london fashion week mulberry

Since we were served so many sherbert hues on the New York runways, it’s only fitting to see a little creamsicle pop up in London. Mulberry’s sheer and shimmery ethereal touches were such a delight.

london fashion week temperley

Stunning. That’s how I felt when I saw these Gatsby-meets-Grey Gardens gowns float down the Temperley runway. Vintage-inspired yet totally modern and beyond glamorous in an understated way, the peachy hues and blues were gah-gah-gorge…

london fashion week temperley

As were Temperley’s out-of-this-world whites. The detailing is outrageous yet so refined. I can’t wait to see these looks pop up on the red carpet. Which celebrity do you think will wear them? (I predict Cate Blanchett in the first dress on the left and Charlize Theron or Jaime King to don the dress on the right).

london fashion week twenty8twelve sienna miller's line

Finally, these romantic and totally wearable frocks from Sienna Mille’rs twenty8twelve line had me gasping, as did those red lips.  Hot…tamale.

That wraps up my faves from London Fashion Week, but now the big question: Which designers took your breath away?

Bag to Have: The Cambridge Satchel Company

cambridge satchel company fluro

It’s not too often that a bag takes my breath away (really), but when I spotted my friend Jenny’s orange satchel it was love at first sight. The punchy hue, the preppy British shape, The Cambridge Satchel Company had me at cheerio. The Fluro (short for fluorescent) collection makes my heart race, but which hue would you pick: neon yellow, pink, orange or green?

cambridge satchel company bags

The Cambridge Satchel Company bags are also available in non-neon, more classic hues like bumblebee yellow, navy, red, brown and even combos of green and navy. They’re also available in several different sizes and you can even personalize them with your own initials (so Blair Waldorf!). Which would be your number one pick?

Available at The Cambridge Satchel Company’s website.

Or snag the yellow satchel (and a few more styles) at ASOS iconand a girl’s orange backpack at J.Crew.

Note: They’re incredibly popular and coming from a small company in the UK, so shipping is taking longer than usual from TCSC’s online shop. I’d order now if you want to enjoy it this fall xx!

Under $50: Fall Boots That Make Your Legs Look Skinny

cute ankle booties; cute ankle boots that make your legs look skinny; affordable fall boots; cute and cheap fall boots; cute fall boots

Remember these boots? Well, I ordered them. Then received a notice that they would be delayed one week. One week turned into one month. And then they cancelled the order. Thanks a lot Piperlime (she dripped with sarcasm). I hope the same thing didn’t happen to you!

It all turned out for the best though as I was able to get these cute boho-meets-cowgirl suede Leylani ankle boots by Marco Santi for less than $50 instead. And I LOVE them. They’re cute, comfy and make your legs look incredibly skinny. I wore them this weekend with cutoffs and black tights to roam around the Echo Park Art & Design Walk. After about a mile of walking, my feet were still happy. Which is the ultimate test, isn’t it?

Get a pair of your own at Sole Society here. (Free shipping & returns too!)

p.s. If you’re not yet a Sole Society member, you’ll need to quickly sign up (it’s free!). Then, just type Leylani into the search box.

Fashion’s Night Out LA Pics: Trina, Kimora, Adriano, More!

Fashion's Night Out Los Angeles Trina Turk; Fashion's Night Out Los Angeles photos; Fashion's Night Out Los Angeles street-style photos;

Sweet peas, I wanted to share my photos with you from Fashion’s Night Out in Los Angeles! (Did you end up going? I’d love to hear all about it!) It was such a fun girls night out full of swoon-worthy shopping, sweets and sips. I nabbed some photos of great street-style (and the rich and famous!) that I thought you might like to see…

We started the evening at Trina Turk, who was hosting a special event with some of Trina’s favorite vintage vendors. I’m so glad we hit up Trina Turk first because we actually got to meet Trina herself! (Which has been a long time coming if you remember this and this.) She is super sweet and stylish and her LA store is gah-gah-gorgeous (not a surprise, as it was designed by Kelly Wearstler).

Speaking of super sweet and stylish, how great do my angels look (sorry, all of these previews for Charlie’s Angels have gotten to me)! I love how everyone inadvertently coordinated, wearing bright orange, floral prints, and belts …

What I Wore: Fashion's Night Out Los Angeles

What I Wore: Zara skirt; Vintage top from Revivals in Palm Springs; Forever 21 bag

Well, everyone except for me who spent the evening doing the polka in head-to-toe dots!

Fashion's Night Out LA Trina Turk; publicist Chrystina Woody

Here is my gorgeous friend Chrystina Woody, a fab lifestyle publicist, in a great floral dress and amazeballs accessories. I about died when I saw her stunning necklace (not to mention her Chanel bag and Dolce Vita sandals).

Here she is trying on an equally sparkly alligator brooch from one of the vintage vendors.

And here she is testing out a fab vintage jacket. Yowzas.

Fashion's Night Out Trina Turk vintage bracelet

I boosted the economy (you’re welcome, world) by taking this vintage Judith Hendler bracelet home (I’m so predictable…show me something black-and-white and I’ll show you something that’s now mine.).

Each guest at Trina Turk was greeted with champagne, a smile and, more importantly, stellar lighting. It amazes me how often stores don’t get lighting right. The Trina Turk store (and Kelly Wearstler) got everything right…

Including these glamorous pink chairs. Doub-lay die! I want to live in this store.

Fashion's Night Out Los Angeles PHOTOS Trina Turk; Jenny Heller Giagni; Rebecca Buenik

Here my friend Rebecca Buenik, stylist and blogger behind Bee of Design (doesn’t she look like a beautiful indie Barbie?), poses with my radiant friend Jenny Heller Giagni, also a fab fashion, beauty and lifestyle publicist.  Jenny’s bright orange bag killed me. No, really. See…

Fashion's Night Out LA Trina Turk; Cambridge Satchel Company bag

I wasn’t exaggerating. Have you seen these bags by The Cambridge Satchel Company? I’ve never been an “it” bag kinda girl, but this baby is my number one fall wishlist item, and after some internet perusing, I see I’m not alone (apparently it’s the bag to have in the fashion and fashion blogger world…who knew?). A full post on these bags is coming next week… (Check out Jenny’s sweet Mr. Kate Cheerio ring too!)

I also wanted to tackle Rebecca and steal her awesome vintage bag…but then I realized I could just ask her if I could borrow it instead. Violence is not the answer, friends.

Fashion's Night Out LA at Satine

Next, we hopped on over to Satine, who was hosting an event with Lyst and Cobra Society.  This shopgirl’s outfit (and cute ‘do) totally charmed me. You too?

Fashion's Night Out LA Satine model Cobra Snake boots

Then, we all literally gasped (in a good way) when we spotted this girl who managed to make a garter belt and bandage dress look cool and edgy instead of…um, illegal. Perhaps it was her Cobra Society boots? Not surprising, she was a model.

Fashion's Night Out Satine Lyst Rachael Bollare publicist

My fashion blogger comrade Rachael LaRoche of Ordinarily Urbane, who is also a fashion publicist at Bollare, helped throw the Lyst event at Satine. I loved her ombre hair and bright, bold lip color. Not to mention her cute ankle boots and dress. (I tried to snatch this black-and-white pup too, but he wouldn’t fit in my bag).

Fashion's Night Out Los Angeles Satine pink pants

I was also smitten with these hot pink shiny pants from Satine. Brightly colored pants are such a big trend right now and one that I’m so excited to try out. Will you be indulging? (You can see more Fashion’s Night Out photos at Satine on their blog – including a few of me in my polka dots!).

Fashion's Night Out LA Ron Herman at Fred Segal Goldsign Adriano Goldschmeid

Next, we moseyed on over to Ron Herman at Fred Segal for the Goldsign Jeans event. We couldn’t help but coo over this cutie, who I believe was in equal admiration of everyone’s fun nail polish colors (or was that just me?).

Fashion's Night Out LA Ron Herman at Fred Segal Goldsign Adriano Goldschmeid

We spotted my beautiful friend Marina Keiler, director of marketing and PR for Goldsign Jeans, with the jeanius “godfather of denim” Adriano Goldschmied of Adriano Goldschmied, Citizens of Humanity, Diesel, and now Goldsign. What a treat to meet the denim guru himself (he was so nice and down to earth!).

Fashion's Night Out LA Goldsign Ron Herman at Fred Segal

The Goldsign Jeans event featured free tarot card readings, but I was too chicken to do it. (Have you ever had a reading?)  I’m not too chicken to nab those black Goldsign bellbottoms off of the mannequin though!

Just when we thought it couldn’t get better than meeting Trina Turk and Adriano Goldschmied, we spotted this guy in a shiny blue unitard. LA street style is always full of surprises.

Fashions Night Out Los Angeles Kimora Lee Simmons at Fred Segal at Ron Herman event

Speaking of surprises, we about peed our pantalones when we spotted model/mom/mogul Kimora Lee Simmons. (Check out her arm party!)

Fashion's Night Out LA Kimora Lee Simmons at Ron Herman Fred Segal

This picture doesn’t capture it at all, but Kimora was 100 times prettier, thinner and glowier (yes, I made that up) in person. Like a real-life Pocahontas.

Fashions Night Out Los Angeles Kimora Lee Simmons at Fred Segal at Ron Herman event

Seriously, she was so amazon woman-esque (as you can see, we weren’t the only ones who were psyched to see her). Even though I wanted to ask her to bake cupcakes with me (or do wheat grass shots?) and to find out once and all if we’re cousins (hey, we’re both Lees!), I resisted having my picture taken with her out of vanity (note to self: bring heels just in case you run into a supermodel!).

After all the excitement, we headed to Lola’s to rest our weary soles…

Fashion's Night Out LA Kristen Turner and Jami Stone

And to sip martinis and nibble on fries with fashion and beauty blogger pals Kristen Turner of Glitter n Glue and Jamie Stone of Queen of the Quarter Life Crisis.

Fashion's Night Out Los Angeles

Then, our driver took us home (kidding!). It was SO much fun and I can’t wait for next year’s Fashion’s Night Out. Do you wish FNO was more than once a year, too? Anna Wintour, can you pretty please do something about that? Thanks, kisses dahling xx!
