My darlings, what are you looking forward to this weekend? I can’t wait to finally visit Kelly Wearstler’s new boutique and to fete my fabulous friend at her black-tie 30th birthday party. I’m also excited to watch the SAG red carpet and hope to hit the beach — it’s supposed to be in the 80s here in LA this weekend!
Here’s what I’ll be wearing (in my mind!) while, true to Sh*t People Say in LA form, complaining that it’s too hot at 85 and too cold at 75:
1. Caribbean Swirl Sunhat
(via Oh Joy!)
2. Dear Marlene Bikini
3. Kate Spade ‘Eat Cake’ for Breakfast’ Bag
4. Tory Burch Cactus Wreath Necklace
5. Topshop Co-ord Stripe Fluid Shorts
Wishing you a wonderful weekend and sending some amazeballs deals your way:
Everywhere: $50 Off Jeffrey Campbell Shoes at Plum Polly (major!)
Everywhere: $50 off any full-price purchase of $250+ at katespade.com w/code YOP12 (whoa!)
LA: $55 for $125 to Argyle Salon in Sunset Tower (I’m hoping to bump into Rachel Zoe!)
LA: $20 for $40 to Prado (I love this Larchmont Village resto!)
LA: Blogger Flea Market at Space15Twenty! (dangerous!)

One of the spring trends I’m most looking forward to is the resurgence of candy colors, especially mint. Refreshing yet sweet and sophisticated all at once, I’m feeling very minty fresh. Let’s grab a mojito, pretend we’re on an island — Capri will do! — paint our nails mint and dive into spring (the early bird gets the worm!) with these darling mint pieces.
1. Juicy Couture Striped Floppy Hat
2. ASOS Rare Pastel Stripe Dip Hem Dress
3. Schuler & Sons Pulled Tide Wedges
4. ASOS Pastel Skinny Belt
5. Essie Mint Nail Polish

Remember how last month I was stalking The Lady in the Hat on the High Desert Tour in an attempt to find out where said dramatic topper was from? And then it turned out The Lady in the Hat was the one and only fab designer Trina Turk, who I then bumped into a few weeks later at the Dwell on Design show in LA — and again didn’t say hi, but instead gawked like a groupie? Well, thanks to the Trina Turk Facebook page, we now know where THE Hat is from! (I know, the plot thickens.) It’s by Louise Green Millinery. British-born (natch) Louise Green is based in LA and has tons of exuberant, dramatic hats. Fancy a look? Louise Green made all of the fab over-the-top straw hats for the Trina Turk 2011 runway fashion show during Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week Swim at The Raleigh in Miami Beach, Florida on July 15th. The NYT also did a piece on hats this weekend, fedoras namely. Did you see it? What do you think of hats making a comeback? Are you a fan, a fanatic or phobic?

Behind the Buss

If you’re in the market for a darling, chic topper ( I know I am, this Palm Springs sun is fabulous but harsh!) Eugenia Kim’s hat collection for Target will debut this Sunday, April 18th. Prices will be $14.99-$19.99 (a steal as Kim’s line normally ranges from $145-$300). What do you think? Will you be waiting anxiously at your keyboard or hitting up your local Target this weekend? If so, which topper strikes your fancy? I’m feeling minty fresh…
